The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Keep in mind shipping has to be taken into account seperately. This monster is going to cost a lot to ship .

Hopefully hear something by the end of the week. With this much interest even if we dont win the bid I am sure to convince the lawyer not to dispose of it.

Might be helpful. Have to carefully word it to show we value it as a sentimental item otherwise she may decide to put a value to it seperately.

Plenty of sentimental value with that APC, my friend. I have ample room in my shop to stage that thing and no critters or beasties around to gnaw on it. Would also be glad to offer some help in restoration but the most important thing, as I understand it, is to get the APC secured. Most any attorney will place a handsome dollar value on anything they feel has heart strings attached to it. With that said, please do keep me in the loop on this one.

Sadly we did not get it. We threw in what money we could, but it went to somebody in Florida who took almost everything.

That's all there is to say, there is no more estate to try to buy. Best I can say is keep an eye open for it on ebay maybe.

GAME OVER :(

That's sad. I just hope whoever bought it knows and respects it's history.

How the heck did someone in Florida know about this and beat everyone else out?

If this were a movie, this would be when somebody shows up on the board and says "Hey guys guess what?"...

Guessing it was an estate sale where someone bought it all as a lot.

But I was under the impression no one was interested and that it was all just sitting in a lawyer's office until someone made an offer.

And Chris's stuff was in Colorado...which is why I asked how someone in Florida knew about it. It also begs the question why they would bid on it when it's going to take a big hunk of cash to have it shipped all that way. And this is more than JUST the APC alone.

Could be a business, like those storage hunters/wars programs. Buying bulk lots and selling individual parts.

I honestly don't know. We made an offer and we were told there were other interested parties that were showing little interest in the APC. After all was said and done all the lawyer would tell me it was someone from Florida. And yes there were other items in the estate.

Remember I said at the beginning all this may come to nothing. What we offered was the best we could. I had always tried to convince Joy to make a will after Chris died and she never did. Everyone that has any dealings with this estate has turned out to be nothing but greedy SOBs.

I was mainly hoping to get this in the hands of someone on this board who could do something with it. My main interest was his Nautilus from 20,000 leagues under the sea that he custom made.

That really sucks. Not sure if there are any next of kin, but if there weren't any, and lacking a will, then intestate sucession can be a mess. Sorry things turned out this way. :(

I don't suppose there's a way to find out who this person in Florida is?

William Babbington...that was his name! Although I can't remember if his last name had three B's or not.

I do remember he and Chris collaborating on a Nautilus model, but that was a long time ago. William was also on the RPF till he got banned for bad business. Before he got banned there was mention that his son, who was wheel-chair bound, was attacked by a care giver. This makes me doubt he has the cash to buy such a lot AND have it shipped all that way.

BUT...that would assume I know his financial situation, which I don't.

I also don't know this is the buyer...just kinda a coincidence.

Sorry to learn that things turned out as they did and not sure about the laws in Colorado. It is not too terribly far fetched to assume that estate sales are a matter of public record. This is especially so if the estate was acquired by someone out of state like Florida. There must be a way to track down the contact info of the buyer to insure that APC doesn't suffer a much worse fate than what we have already seen. :(

I did finally get in touch with the buyer of the Chulamanis estate, and yes he did take the APC. He does intend to sell it eventually but he is inventorying all the small resin molds from Chris' side business EVA models and the molds for the 1/6 colonial marine armor so hopefully soon.
