The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

I bought PVB's old cover with the intention of making a Hudson helmet display.

I have a spare helmet from my in-limbo web series, so why not dress it up? If I ever get around to filming and need it I can just take the cover off!

I'm still adjusting the fit, but you get the idea.

So I have great images of the "BRAIN DEAD" across the front and the Eightball on the back, but I'm not 100% confident on the Countdown Calendar. Does anyone have reference pictures showing the top of the calendar in particular?

I just want to be sure I'm doing it right before I start drawing on this thing as there's no "undo" button if I mess up!

Here's another reproduction, this time with the top words more clearly shown. I see "short and sweet" across the top. Do we have any evidence to back this up from the actual film though?

I always thought the boxes had numbers and strikes in them, this one has the boxes empty?

It should have the months written in there, with all but July crossed out. Funny that they missed that!

it has 12 boxes one for each month. With a cross threw all but one. because his going home in a month. don't quote me tho. but if you go to the archive pics of hudson you can see a pic with the months written on the angle and the cross over them.

Yup, there are 11 months crossed out. The months end with July which isn't crossed out, and below it he's written "GAME OVER". For the life of me I can't find a clear shot of the top to verify the "SHORT & SWEET" motto. I'm probably going to just do the parts that are verified and then if I ever find confirmation of the top slogan I can add it then.

The actual 'name' for that box is a 'short timer's calendar' it was a Vietnam thing, and is a nice touch considering Cameron wanted them to be 'Vietnam' marines

Above the calendar I feel like I'm seeing the word "remember" or "reminder" or possibly even "calendar"??

Also, does it look to anyone else like the name stencil on the back is a piece of camo fabric and *not* the usual OD strap material?

Still a few things to improve (like the helmet band) but it's getting there! Thanks to Moosh and SpaceJockey and PVB for helping me get this far.

I don't know how accurate they are to the movie but 'Vietnam Helmet Band' on ebay throws up a bunch of listings...
