The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Here is the final pic of the Neca figure. Does anyone know when it will go on sale?

Best to keep all Neca figures in the Neca thread:

Hi all,

I want to thank zachilles for bringing up this topic as it allows me to share something with community.

We are talking about my favourite scene in (what I still think of as) the trilogy, and I acquired these storyboards from a couple of different sources. Please excuse my poor camerapersonship but I think you get the general idea. There is some glare from the glass in the frame as I had a couple of lights on when I took it.

I have sheets 39, 44 and 45 of the production stroyboards titled 'Ending' from Alien 3. I've had them framed as a triptych and this is prominent on the wall of my house. They are beautifully drawn by Martin Ashbury. You will notice that the second frame of sheet 45 has been signed by Lance Henriksen. This compares exactly with the bottom frame of sheet 41, as supplied by Zachilles (it also looks exactly like the autograph on the front page of 'Not bad for a Human' - well worth a read if you don't have it).

If anyone owns Titan's 'Alien: The Archive', on page 244 they will be able to see the sheet that follows on directly from 45, where what is referred to as 'the Inmate' (bottom frame 45, *not* Aaron) plunges a fire axe into Bishop's head, killing him. Clearly this was changed prior to shooting, with the hit from the wrench belaying Bishop but allowing him to deliver a few desperate lines afterwards. So the lines 'think of all we can learn from it / you must let me have it / it's a magnificent specimen' must have been added after (they don't seem to make sense if they are applied to frame 2 on sheet 45, which reads 'Bishop now conciliatory' - Pickett's script edit of 5th January 1991 doesn't read particularly well in this section and the dialogue's a bit flat, so I'm not surprised it was changed).

I love these things to bits, but it's interesting that Ashbury only really captures the essence of Lance Henriksen in the final frame, when he is front on. For anyone interested in costumes, Bishop appears to be wearing the trenchcoat familiar from the ending, plus a shirt and tie. The accompanying characters are pretty indistinct.

Like Zachilles I'd love to see anyone else's Alien 3 storyboards.

Here are my Alien 3 storyboards. Plus an AvP Requiem concept I have. I used to have another AvPR concept and a couple of Aliens storyboards but I got rid of those. I do have the entire AR storyboard script though.

While there is already a NECA figures thread, I wanted to specifically post this profile angle shots of the Neca Weyland Yuntani Commando figure in this thread given this thread focuses on the Commando. Pretty cool stuff.

Seriously excited that one member's passion has allowed us all to have these customized options for the WY Commandos from Neca!

Sweet! I was hoping they would release this customization. Thanks man. I heard Randy's team at NECA was reading my thread as they built this figure. I have already preordered 6 of them! I'll have some more suprises to post on this thread this year. Stay tuned

Zachilles, where does the 10 decal go?

Zachilles probably knows better if it made the film but I believe the '10' is an alternate choice to the arrows on the side of the helmet. A few pages ago in this thread there is that '10' featured on the concept art.

Sorry for my delayed response, been traveling a ton now...
The 10 is an alternative to the arrows. In addition, all that you can see in the film is a helmet with red arrows and one with red stars. The red stars goes with the Cruncher helmet (see pic) and was verified in a Christies auction. It seems that wasn't included as an option w NECA. Its unknown what decals (if any) go with Hunter and Boss helmets.

Curious to know how many of you all bought more than one commando out there? Don't be shy. :-) I actually bought 6 of them. Lol

Here are some video reviews of the figure in case people are on the fence. The first video review link below is the best one with an up close view of the figure:

http://youtu.be/KdD4Okd56bo
https://youtu.be/QRvHhMPfN4E
https://youtu.be/oB2xy_UAYVE

I can imagine these will go for a pretty penny in the secondary market once they are sold out. The common theme in the videos are that they wished they had purchased a set instead of one.

I am certain the next wave will be Bishop, scientists and the dog catchers. That would be pretty awesome.
For those who already have them in hand...what do you all think of the figures??? Love to hear your thoughts.

I did buy 2 with the intention to run the '10' on one and do the ' animal' setup on the other.

Hey Zachilles, was "Hunter" actually seen on screen? I hadn't heard that name until I saw the decal.

The Commando and Combat Android are the next two on my "to do" list. I would greatly appreciate any information and help you guys can provide.

As in 'to do' for a costume? Info on the commando is quite literally all right here in the last 7 pages. After D*Con I think I will try to build the helmet myself. This thread has def helped me appreciate these guys.

The video game off-shoots that were inspired by the A3 Commandos are def fun ideas, but I am not sure how much info you can actually get beyond screen grabs. With nothing about them using real world items, you have a lot of wiggle room. Only limit is your imagination and there is no 'right or wrong' way to do it.

I can't remember if these guys were 'combat androids' in AvP2 or if they were simply called "hazmat soldiers", but they also appear to have drawn heavily from the commandos in the padding/armor, packs, and to a lesser degree the helmet.
