The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

unabridged and unadulterated means Hicks and Newt! Yay! I still have my original issues and a well worn original trade paperback, but the paper quality and richness of the black ink on Aliens Salvation's rerelease has me thinking this will be worth seeking out too.

This was announced the week after I finally got around to buying the original singles xD I've preordered a copy so I can put my singles away though. I'm really happy about this release. I hope they do a hardback version of the original Nightmare Asylum too!

Man I remember when the original B&W issues came out. Back then I had to get my parents to take me to the local comic book store...which I hadn't known existed before...and when I got home, I'd lay on my bed, play the opening theme from ALIENS while I turned that first page. That's also when they released the 1:32 scale ALIENS models from AEF Designs.

Man those were great days.

Was this the story about Earth being over-run by the aliens and some rogue marine officer trying to train rival xenomorphs to attack them?

Simon: this was th beginning of that story, the rogue general was the next series. I'm hoping that will get a similar rerelease soon!

Aaah right, a lot of these Alien stories were reprinted in the UK by Trident magazine back in the early 90s. Think they might have started with the second story as the one with the rogue officer and his Xenomorphs was the earliest one I remember.

They were actually very nice comics as they were cheaper than forking out for imports and also featured a Predator comic strip (The Heat, Aliens vs Predator and Cold War all featured). Sadly I think Dark Horse decided to take over UK publication themselves and Trident went bust shortly after.

I did have a complete set of all the old UK reprint Alien comics from Trident, along with the first 8 or so UK Dark Horse ones, but ebayed them a few years back as I had too much movie related stuff taking up too much space. Sad, but unfortunately, needs must... :(

Those Trident comics are ones I want to start collecting soon. They have quite a few nice little tidbits hidden away in them.
