The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Was the pattern a raised grid or a sunken grid?

I found some yoga mats at Wal-Mart that should be perfect...depending on what the screen used pattern was.

The thin gridlines are recessed. Or the squares are raised, depending on your point of view.

I think Harry's page shows it best.

Hey Bob, if you verify that the material you find is accurate then please do post a link,

@ Rob. Go to Scifimilitary.com and you may still find some cigarette pouches in 2 Pat Camo which can be used on the back of the helmet.

Cheers

Darren

The yoga mats are way too thin.

A military sleeping pad is closer.

I would go with a sleeping mat or wait for the replica

on the SFM.

Hey Matt

The problem withthe replica on the SFM is that (so I understand anyway) it will only be available in conjunction with purchases of M3 armour sets.

I believe the original padding was from a Dutch army sleeping roll. I haven't seen any that match the pattern though.

Well, after looking at Harry's site, I don't think what I've found is accurate, but it is similar.

Thin yes, but too thin? From the image linked above, the padding doesn't appear to be more than a mm or two in thickness. The padding I found is praticly ready to use in that reguard.

And as far as SFM is concerned, I won't be buying from him any time soon.
