I don't know whether this belongs here as it's not an Airsoft weapon, or on the Ready Line part, but here goes; I'd never heard of Nerf guns before a couple days ago when a suggestion appeared on Youtube alongside something I was watching.
Anyway, the Youtube clip was a review of a gun called a Rapidstrike CS18, which kind of resembles a pulse rifle in parts, and it got me thinking. As I'm not in a position to purchase a 'real' PR at the silly prices being charged, I could get one of these Rapidstrikes and modify it. It wouldn't resemble a 'proper' PR, but I was thinking it could, after mods and an appropriate paint job, be an earlier model without a grenade launcher, and call it an M-39 assault rifle or something.
Looking on 'tinternet, I've seen both pics of green and brown PR's, so which is the 'correct' colour, and any thoughts on this idea gents?
Regarding "Brown Bess" (the brown) vs. "Olive Drab" (the green) go with your preference.
The actual props were painted "Brown bess" (now discontinued paint color), but there was a blue filter used during filming that made everything look "olive drab" (a very common military green). The debate rages on as to what entails "accuracy". One side says "What was seen on film is 'accurate'". The other side says "The way the actual prop was constructed is 'accurate'". And the debate rages on...
