The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Enzo, that's a pretty good theory! I need to get a copy of the Art of Alien: Isolation, I'm betting there will be an explanation of their thought process in there judging by how well thought out everything else seems to be in the game. I'd also like to see a size comparison between Savastapol and the Nostromo refinery.

P.S. your cat is trying to give you a heart attack. It is in league with the Alien.

Maybe the refinery the nostromo was towing was very much like servastapol.

I agree, it looks like the Nostromo before you realize that the ship is towing a large item behind it.

What intrigues me though is if I remember correctly, the very beginning of the movie shows an on screen bio of the ship. How many Crew, what the ship does and so on. It says it's towing Ore if memory serves me right.

I am still in the middle of mission 7, I have not been able to dedicate enough time to the game. But my cat will jump on my lap to sleep and while I'm playing if I have no clue he is there he is scaring the pants off me. So I believe my cat is in league with the Alien as well.

My cat has done it 3 times to me gets me every time. I think these station/ refineries are multi-purpose. Seal off the habitation areas when refining fuel or towing cargo, shut down refining when needed for use as a station or transport.

The Nostromo and Torrens are both M-class ships, so I imagine they're pretty much the same size.

Did anyone ever do a vehicle/spacecraft technical manual of the alien universe besides the marine technical manual? Somebody with some technical imagination should dream one up.

This would be an awesome idea! If I had the tech knowledge I would love to write one up. I wouldn't mind working on the project with people though. It could be a great group effort.

Yea, I think I'm right in the middle of it. I am trying to trap it in one of the towers of the space station. The first attempt failed, I'm in the second one now, and I just keep screaming.

I know I'm not very far, and I've been avoiding posts in this thread for fear of spoilers but wanted to share this video with you guys/girls.

My excuse is I put off playing until I got my hearing fixed but I couldn't wait any longer

I just completed Mission 5 - Quarantine on Hard without being killed by the Alien, twice. The first time the trophy for "Hide. Run. Survive." never unlocked so I had to do it again, I saved my playthrough this time!

Both times I walked through without really stopping. I was scared the entire time and was practically choking on my own heart. Here's the video of successful attempt 2:

https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=10152370078727721

The f***er was right behind me at one point too! It was just sheer luck I made it that time! Hahaha!

I will take my time next time to collect ID tags/terminals on my easy playthrough!

What cracks me up is all the stupid little '70s plastic toys on the desks and all the magazines. I try to stop and read some of the wall posters and adverts as well (avoid lice, keep well groomed!) Got the cassette players everywhere, but where's the 8-tracks?

Damn, I wish I could get that metal box. I already have the game, I just love the design!

Has anyone gotten a clear shot of the Koorlander cigarette packs? I think it says GOLD beneath the stylized K but I'm not positive.

I love the product placement!

Oh hell yes...having a cat jumping on your table out of the dark while playing this game, one headseat flying away!

I really loved the game. It is obviously made by fanboys for fanboys. So many details so much care for the Alien Universe...and even with integrating some new elements, like the Working Joes, some new antagonistic organisation besides Wayland and the great work on the alien behavior...just awesome! And I so, so loved to be able to walk around the Torrens in the beginning, without beeing harrased by any enemy, even thought it is only a small part. I'm really looking forward to play a sequel!
