The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

I have two sets of UK patches on my uniform - the Lion and the British Flag. My involvement is with the UKCM, not the USCM so maybe carrying the US flag is not a good idea. But then again, will people even see my Lion from that far away??

I would surmise that being a US citizen, you're OK bearing the flag to which we give the most real-world prominence/importance (you know what I mean).

Personally, I don't see a problem. I knw if I had someone else to carry the Tricouleur, I'd have no second thoughts about carrying any other flag that needed someone. I'd be honoured to - yes, even the Union Flag! :P

Ultimately in this case, and unless someone objects strenuously, I figured it's how you feel the most comfortable that matters. If you think it'd be weird/inappropriate, you'll make a damn find bearer for the USCM flag!

As for me, the flag is already pre-packed with the rest of my Colonial Marine gear. :)

I don't feel weird carrying the US flag in my UKCM gear. To be honest, people probably won't be looking that closely.

Looks fine to me.

(Strictly for information: why the 1-2-2 rather than the 1-4 I remember from last time I was in? Easier to handle?)

NOTE** I may not be the US flag bearer. Calling any US member: If you have Charlies and want to carry the US flag, please step forward!

Dom, if someone has a US patch I can put over my British flag, I will carry the US flag.

In a nutshell. It's the lead symbol in a predominate and popular parade in the city of Atlanta, (in this country). It's seen by the public, media, civilians, military/veterans. It may be of no importance to you or some, but to many its important to have someone not wearing a foreign flag carrying our colors. Although, its not insulting to me in any way, and many would be quite flattered by a foreigner doing this. Nonetheless, we are in the public eye, and just takes that one group or organization or bigmouth that raises a stink about it. Result? We lose the lead position in the parade. Don't think it can happen, you bet it can. Piss off a veterans group or some other organization, and we've had it. And Yes, Reb IS American, but the Union Jack on her shoulder would fool just about everyone. Personally, I wouldn't feel right wearing a US flag on my shirt while carrying the Union Jack as I lead a CG in a parade in the UK.

As for you carrying the Canadian flag, you are brethren. All of you honorably serve her Royal Majesty the Queen. Being Commonwealth this is understandable and respected.

***Reb: Thanks for being understanding.

For sure. You always have to be careful when you're carrying the colours of a foreign nation while in the public eye.

I've also been approached about carrying the Ensign for the parade, and if Rebecca isn't able to make the change to her uniform for whatever reason (or would simply appreciate not having to go to the trouble) then I'd be happy to do so.

If that ends up being the case, then I'm also happy to let someone else wear my Smartgun rig for the parade, since there usually aren't very many of those.

Wherever the group can use me most, that's where I'll be. Just let me know!

I think it would be a fantastic idea to have our first female USCM flag carrier. So, I'd like to see Sean with the US flag and Rebecca with the USCM flag.

Tony, what position do you propose to fill?

Dom, AGREED!! Sean, THANK YOU BROTHER!! (Would you have any objections to a chick wearing your gear for the parade? **and a cute one at that;)
Oh, I think Sean is asking GirlSpectre if she can wear her pin-up outfit and help carry the banner. One problem with that... no one will be looking at our cool new banner :( They will be uhm, somewhat distracted.

I would be more then happy to be a rifle escort again. I get to wear those sharp looking white gaiters again ;)

I couldn't care less what the gender of the person wearing Juliet is, as long as whomever it is is comfortable with carrying 50-60 pounds of poorly-balanced weight on their shoulders for a mile or two ;). Hell, I don't think we've ever had a gal smartgunner in the parade before. I'd be pleased as punch to have a part in making another first happen.

Yes, but simple white parade gloves are fine. You don't need the expensive Donald Trump butler white gloves. Look on eBay, they are super cheap (a few bucks). There might be spares in the parade kit, but I'm not sure.
