Some of you will already know as apparently Trevor's wife Alison announced on Facebook, that Trevor suffered a stroke on Saturday.
I visited Trevor today, Alison said he's improved since then but after seeing him, I'm sad to report that he's still in a serious condition.
He's pretty much lost all movement on his left side and his face has dropped a bit, too, slurring his speech. From what I can gather he can't see on his left side as well right now.
Despite all this he's in good spirits and was still able to tell a couple of dirty jokes. If you've met Trevor then you'll know what I mean. With this guy, the last thing to go would be his sense of humour.
He's expected to be in hospital for at least six weeks. At this point it's to early too predict his recovery but he's a very strong man and he'll do his best to fight his way back to normality as much as he can. It goes without saying that everyone hopes Trevor can make a full recovery. He had a couple of stunt men there today, family and friends, etc, his wife Alison will be going over there every day so he'll have company, so in that respect he's fortunate. The hospital is in Essex, 35mins from central London on the train. If you want to visit him, or send him something, shoot me a PM and I'll give you the address/details. He'll be ok for half an hour but then probably doze off. I know he'd be glad to see anyone from the AL or UKCM. It may be best to leave it a week when he's gained more strength, I can check with Alison to be sure. Or if you know her send her a message on Facebook and see what she says.
In the meantime, I'm going to take a card over there on Saturday, I thought it might be cool to all sign it. I think somebody did something similar before, like scan in or photograph your name and a message, I'll comp them together and print them out on a large card with the AL logo, etc. I think that would go down a treat and give him some encouragement.
Just paste them in to this thread or email me:
adc@newroadfilms.comOr maybe just type a message in this thread, I guess that will be fine and I'll print them out and assemble them. Maybe that's more practical.
