The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Is the Creative Assembly's Alien-based game getting ready for reveal?

I reckon fridge magnets. :)

So Sega are giving an fps game to a dev famous for an rts game?

I doubt it'll be better received by the general gaming public than A:CM, but will wait and see.

Creative Assembly have two teams. The RTS team for PC, and the console team (Viking, Stormrise).

But yes. Alarm bells already ringing for this.

Worst idea for an Alien game yet. "Play as Ripley's daughter, Amanda."
The one that died an old lady before Ripley woke up in Aliens. Makes sense
Because, Alien/s needs more Ripley

Agreed, tenuous as hell idea - I bet they've done it so they can get Sigourney Weaver to voice act Amanda though... it's not totally impossible to think they'd try pulling that.

When will the Aliens gaming nightmare stop!?

Between this and the new novel that features Ripley fighting aliens in between cat naps on the Narcissus ("she's not asleep the whole time" says the author) I'm sick to death of this crap.

Now one of the comments to the article had a good idea: give us a game about Newt's survival on LV-426 from the moment her parents find the derelict until the Marines arrive. Tons of aliens, few if any guns, just traps, evasion and a real sense of danger. Who's to say she was alone the whole time? have a couple of other kids and good old Mary (aka the unluckiest colonist of all) as fodder and it could be pretty cool.

I'm surprised they're not going for a 'after Prometheus, before Alien' idea explaining how the LV-426 derelict got there.

Having Amanda in the game could be good, just a cameo for the fans or something but actually playing as her seems stupid.

"Hmm which character has no-one used before... Oh how about Ripley's daughter, she MUST want to go flying around space especially after her mum disappeared doing the job..."

I do have a theory that these are leaked in an attempt to show the publisher that there is interest in the game. I wonder if it is under threat of being cancelled... I would be expecting to see more of a game that was aledgedly started back in May 2011...

Sorry, starting to see some parallels to Colonial Marines' development, and the common element is Sega.
