The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Haha, thanks everyone!

Retro, Hahaha!, I don't know about that! It's hard enough trying to get her to do the ones we need!

Tonight we did her crew shirt. It went a lot better than I expected! the only thing we kind of screwed up on was the pen loops again. (I should have helped her figure out the exact measurements) and I wasn't paying close enough attention, cause she was doing so awesome, she sewed the name tape border on too high. Haha, too funny!

Me: "Sh**!... Umm... The uh... Nametape border is a tad too high... :("
Mom: "Whaaaaat??"
Me: "Ya, its gotta be almost touching the pocket..."
Mom: *teasing* "WHY DOES IT HAVE TO TOUCH THE POCKET!???"
Me: *feeling scared* "BECAUSE!!... IT HAS TO!!"

So I made her move it down, but she sewed it on crooked cause she was rushing for some reason haha... Whatever, looks way better than on mine... I'm jealous! haha

Here's what we started out with (Red Kap Mens Specialized Pocketless Shirt) :

And with the flight suit :) :

The flight suit still needs the two zippers sewn on the back along with the green lacing. The laces I ordered were too short, so I have reordered a pair longer, which should be here in time.

Then we need to suck in the belt to her waist and make the zippers and laces work too to hold it up higher so the top is baggy and open. My camera died after that last photo but I rolled up the sleeves, and it sure made a big difference, really looks good now!

Switching to iPhone photos now...

A few weeks ago I finished up her headset, which I got from Stephen.

I ended up ordering one of Spat's headset kits for myself, since my plan for a Bluetooth version didn't work out this time. I'll get it together this week.

I still need to put her watch together, I have a plan to make it stay together, I will use some black thread and hand stitch the rubber bands to the nylon webbing.

And finally, YAY me!, I finally have a Service C uniform!, I scored another Walmart deal. We were just passing through the ladies clothes (something I find very boring) and these pants jumped out at me. They may not be the EXACT colour a lot of you prefer, but they are damn close, they are comfy, and they fit perfectly. Just need to add some belt loops. I've ordered a plain black leather garrison belt with brass buckle to go with.

And that's all for now, thanks for checking in :)

It's all looking good Moosh!

Just to be clear, I based my cigarette pack's measurements on the pack of Gitanes Kane has at his station. If you like a smaller design that's totally cool.

Thanks all, we're having a blast doing it!

Can't wait for our convention!

I forgot to mention, we've entered Mom in the Edmonton Expo Costume Contest in the Novice category. She's gonna perform Ripley's final report hahaha! Gotta get that on video and make her practice! I've got it mostly memorized, the only thing is the order of the names "Kane, Lambert, Parker, Brett, Ash, and Captain Dallas" which muddles me up... everything else I have nailed, but it's not me that needs to remember! haha I may have to sit by the stage with giant cue cards ;)

Haha! I knew it! I saw your post in the Service Number Registry thread and I was like "I wonder if she's going, being in Sherwood park, and appearing here so close to the convention date..."

That's cool!, Its our first convention. My one brother Jon is coming, he's been to Calgary Comic and Entertainment Expo for the last two years. He doesn't dress up, but my Mom and I thought it would be cool to goof off a bit and have fun!

Maybe we will see you there! Don't be shy like me if you see us! I'm pretty shy at first haha!! Are you dressing up?

I'm going to try passing out business cards for Aliens Legacy to see if we can get more new members, so far I'm the only one in Saskatchewan! It's pretty lonely!! haha

Thanks!

I got the kit for the watch from Matt Noble :)

Had a time getting it to stay together for her to wear it though, it's amazing what a few staples, lots of superglue and some needle and thread do!

Totally nothing wrong with Nobles awesome kit, just my lack of experience putting it together... I bet there was a really simple way too! haha

I got my garrison belt in the mail today, I went with a plain black belt with brass buckle :)

I managed to score myself a Pentax 110 18mm lens from the bay of evil :)

No idea what I'm gonna do with it just yet, I kind of just wanted that little authentic piece for my growing collection :) and the price was right :D

Maybe I will rig up a little helmet camera that works or something hahaha!
