The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Holy Cow Tony!!!!! Those parts are beautiful!!!!!!! What is the small aluminum block in the lower left? Do you sell these parts? If so, I would really be interested in a barrel. Are they hollow all the way thru? Again truly amazing parts!!

Oh and have to say again, I love "Black Bess". She's a great looking PR!!

@Spellbinder99: These excellent parts look very familiar. :)
Do you still make them?

No guys, they are all a small part of my 15 year accumulation of Pulse Rifle parts. Most of the stuff in that picture is SD Studios PR parts including the two threaded barrels, the muzzle blocks and the cream resin mag tabs. The metal blocks are the SD shroud support blocks, the rear ones incorporate a spring detent for the stock. The resin is I believe from Deck 36 when they were toying with doing their own PR, hence why they are mostly resin Thompson internal parts. A couple of the barrel support loops are SD ones, the others are from various other makers.

Cheers

Tony

@Tony: Thanks for the quick clarification. I thought that these part come from other soures apart from SD (Shroud kit, etc) and what Deck 36 offered.
@robiwon: For the stock I suggest you check the the Uzi Spann build: http://props.steinschneider.com/pulser/custom/stephan_custom_04.htm

577_ops, that is a great build. No text though to describe what we are looking at is a bummer. Those two pics don't really tell me anything. Can you elaborate on what we are seeing?

@ robiwon: Sure: If you mean the Uzi part that wasn’t done by me, but I used the same mechanismen Stephan describes there.

http://props.steinschneider.com/pulser/ ... ock_04.jpg

Shows the Uzi part that used to have the PR stock being sliding on the Thompson and have it stop at the position you mark on the Stock shown here: http://props.steinschneider.com/pulser/ ... ock_03.jpg

This mechanic is completely inside covered by the shrouds.
So you don’t see buttons, screws or any mechanism outside.
Yet still you can have the stock snap into positions _you_ define.

So fully in, fully pulled out and any position in between (normally up to 8 positions).

That part is part of the Uzi's cocking handle on top. I'll have to look into that.

First PR (plus black repaint, build still in progress), and my newest addition, a Matrix.

Apologies for necro post.

I've got a RS Uzi and can elaborate a little on what's going on there.

The Uzi is an "open bolt" gun. When cocked the bolt is in the open position and when you press the trigger the bolt closes, firing the gun.

As a safety measure, the cocking handle has a "ratchet" which will lock the bolt open and prevent it from closing. To release the bolt, you pull back of the cocking handle and the ratchet disengages.

So I would assume that with this stock, you would pull it out and it would lock. To collapse it, you'd pull it rearward to disengage the ratchet.

An ingenious solution, one I might try myself.

Been seen before, but that was so long ago.
It started of as a Snowwolf untill i got my hands on a HCG with alluminium shrouds, and basicaly just decided to go all the way.

It's actualy quit strang, but when we where at ComicCon last year in berlin a small boy kame up to me at our stand and asked if he could have his picture taken with a pulserifle,so obviosly i asked his dad if that would be ok,and his dad just said this is all he was talking about all day, getting his photo
Taken with the Colonial Marines and there PRs.
That was a great day,and the little guy loved it.
