The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

I hope they removed those when they abandoned the rest of hive, imagine the look on the next crew on that location!

I know the actors would be expecting to see all that, but it must of been seriously unnerving to walk through all that.

unsettling to say the least. Yet exactly what this thread was all about. 'Bout time to make some 1/6th cocooned colonists I think!

Thanks bud, I can't top your squad, I've sold all mine! :(

If you want a quick tip: use clingfilm (clear plastic wrap) and a hairdryer, it shrinks and ripples very nicely.
I also secured the figure using a cable tie around the waist so it would hang naturally.

I'd love to fly over there and build a 'town-meeting' diorama with you :)

I agree it must have been unnerving for the cast to walk through that... They must have been mentally prepared but even so... The worst is, of course, what we don't see but we know is there from the PDTs...

Wasn't it the crew from the Batman movie who next used Acton on location? If these sections of the set had have been left, someone might have died of fright!

Hello, broken lurking to answer a point on this one! The skeletal cocooned colonist can be seen clearly webbed to the wall upside down when Hicks kneels down to inspect the empty egg. So there we are!

When I look at all these pictures I wonder how little we know about the alien hives and the cocooning. Are the grown up Xenos feeding on those poor victims or do they just immobilize them for the facehuggers and as food for the next generation of Xenos? And how about the hive? Do the xenos just spit out some kind of webbing to immobilize the victims or is some kind of Mushroom/fungus that exists in a kind of symbiosis with the Xenos? Just look at those complex structures on the walls that look like giant alien Xeno-limbs, -organs and -body structures. Is that growing by itself and feeding from the colonists or is it something the Xenos build somehow?

Does anyone remember the Aliens vs. Predator exstinction videogame? In this game Xeno drones were able to snot some kind of Hive knots to the floors and walls. Just like a fungus these knots were spreading and growing and forming these complex, giger-eske structures.

More details about these hives would be great.

I've found this whole thread really interesting but this last bit raised a thought in my head. Although these colonies where made up by lots of familys people would have gotten to know each other kinda well. In the chaos that erupted as the Xenos started to take over Hadleys Hope it stands to reason that Mary would have ended up with Newt and they survived together.

My reckoning is that one of two things happened to Mary, either she sacrificed herself to protect Newt, or even more horrifyingly...

...Newt used her as a distraction to escape......

There's some food for thought.
