The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

I'm kidding. I backed it when I first heard about it. I was sorely tempted to do the $1,000 "be a dead body in the movie" one....

I wish I had more coin, but I did contribute $50... Can't wait to see it, big fan of this crew!

Maybe I'm alone here but I thought their work on A:R, AvP, and AvP:R was awful. Not that I can do better, but a bar was set and it wasn't up to par in my opinion. I've seen better fan made creature suits than the ones from those movies and never liked the shoe head aliens from A:R and AvP.

You're not alone. I can personally attest to that. I prefer to phrase it by saying "I liked the suit performance and the animatronic engineering in A:R, and the Xenos had cute faces" and strictly leave it at that. But I love your negativity all the same.

I do love their Alien3 suit however, probably 2nd only to the original Giger suit IMO. I just wish it had back spines (and yes, I know the reasons why it didn't).

Why didn't it have the spines Gareth?
Love to know, because I've never thought of a good reason why it wouldn't, I mean all are from mammals which pretty much have the same internal organs etc. :?

The spines would either need to randomly lay flat against it's body or it would be unable to turn it's head when on all-fours because the head would clash with them. But, I wish they'd worked out something with stubby tubes or vents or...

The tubes are something that is truly "Alien" (I still haven't worked out exactly what I think they are for, biologically... :)), so I think it was a mistake to leave them out.

Ah thanks Gareth, makes sense from a practical point, but in total agreement with you they should have been there in some form.

Looks like a good one. :) At least it made funding. I blew what little free cash I had on the Robotech and All Quiet on the Martian Front Kickstarters.

Giger had a helping hand on A3 if I recall correctly so that's probably why the A3 suit was better.

Maybe. But they appeared to largely ignore most of the Giger A3 concept art that has been published. It was very interesting stuff IMO, and very different to the final result.
