The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

NECAs Facebook said they would be shipping in the next week or two. Looking forward to these becoming available.

Even thought the "game over" Hudson face was captured so amazingly, I have to say the "You want some of this?!" face is going to be the one I am most pleased with on the ol' shelf.

I hate the concept of tweaking minor things to sell the same figure twice, but I'll be buying both versions. At least one of each of both versions in fact. I hate being a sucker, but Neca knows which buttons to push and they got me!

Unfortunately a fellow on SSF has been in touch with Randy on Twitter and Randy was quite clear that they are not interested in paying for Al Mathews's likeness. "Wouldnt work" he said. It could be that he is playing it cool in hopes of a bigger surprise...but I fear the worst.

This was after Neca said Goldstein wouldnt allow her likeness, then Jeannette responded that Neca has never even contacted her. It appears to me Neca is writing off the 'non-stars' without making an effort, citing the cost of of the license on top of likeness. Very unfortunate and frustrating.

So to recap, in case anyone needed a summery of the last few pages and current gossip!:

Series 1 (shipping some time between next week and July 1st [conflicting reports])
-Hicks (no helmet)
-Hudson (Game over face, no helmet)
-Alien Warrior (Brown)

2 packs (shipping in "summer" 1 month apart from each other)
-Red Warrior vs. Black warrior (from "Genocide")
-Hicks (with helmet, screaming face) vs. exploding Warrior 1
-Hudson (with helmet, screaming face) vs Exploding Warrior 2

Series 2 single figures
-Alien Warrior (Blue, repaint)
-"big chap"/Original Geiger Alien (w/new articulation over their last one)
-"Flame thrower Marine" (Hopes are that it is Apone. If Randy was serious that it wont be him, Frost is possible. But knowing how things go, there is a very good chance it will be a generic "army builder", which was hinted at on Twitter some time ago...)

EDIT: Final series 2 details are being released at SDCC including the official word on the new Marine.

Announced, but no ETA
-Alien Queen (officially a 'go', but already backing off their original "By Christmas" prediction. Now saying "early 2014 is possible)
-Alien Eggs and Facehuggers. (finished, but no decision about how to distribute them).

If i have bad intel, please anyone on the pulse of the scene go ahead and correct me!

There is a distinct possibility that the screen cap on the picture is just reference of the back armor and lamp, not necessarily for Apone. Dietrich would be cool (and I know Retro would love that lol) but a generic marine is probably more likely.

It's obviously 'Boot-Camp Gorman'...
;)

I'm loving the idea of a generic soldier to customise, a mini-me would be very welcome!

All of the above sound good to me! Bigbisont has proven that (with some effort) the entire squad can be recreated.

Unless someone has heard a rumour I haven't, no. None of th sculpts or prototypes I've seen had a smart gun or smart gunner armor. Everything was the standard body armor.

Having said that, I would totally buy two if they made a Vasquez.

I don't think I'm going on too big of a limb when I say "sales will probably decide". I would hope that if the figures sell, they will keep making them.

If they sell as well as their predator line, we will get a LOT. Hell, the predator figures literally ran out of stuff to make. They made every background Pred and even two Predator figures from a freaking FAN FILM! Then after years of saying 'no predator humans' they finally made Dutch because sales and demand it.

If it goes like Neca's gremlins or even their Prometheus line...we will have to just enjoy series 1 & 2! Poor sales of those 2 lines resulted in previously announced figures being indefinitely postponed or outright killed.

Are the two "exploding" aliens going to be different from one another?

Actually, yeah. One brown, the other blue. One exploding head, the other exploding body/sternum. So...eh, about as "different" as they can get.

More Twitter gossip! (as originally viewed from the SSF forum)

Jace Madan wrote:
From NECA's twitter reguarding Bishop:

"Yes, most likely in Series 3 even!!"

KoBE wrote:
It's worth mentioning these tweets as well:

[Q] "have you been in touch with Al Matthews, Janet Goldstein or Mark Rolston over ALIENS?"

[A] "not yet, the Series is planned out into Series 4 so there is no immediate need or urgency. We have some great ones coming"

This answer gives a different impression than what they gave the other day talking about getting Al Matthew's likeness.

So with a plan to go until series 4 and a recent trend of 3 figures per series, there should be at least 6 more figures.

Speculation is Bishop is a lock. The alien 3 'dogburster/ox alien' is likely.
4 slots left! Your imaginations can officially beginning running REAL wild!

I think the inclusion of the Geiger Alien re-sculpt in series 2 kind of opened the door to all of them. But I really am just guessing.
