The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Cheers guys. Picked up a PLCE belt to replace the US LC1 style one i currently have. Looks identical to the US one (with the exception of the rivets) but has the advantage that i can hang PLCE pouches on it for airsoft.

Need to make my mind up about the combats at some point soon . . .

The helmet molds are finished so i thought i'd put one together and see what they looks like. Still need to paint the inside of the lobster plates (or foam line them) and add the earpiece and boom mic. I'm currently wiring them so i can use them with my radio. The front strike plate is molded into the buck, meaning that part is hollow. Made sense for fitting the IR sight.

Still i'm not the expert, looking ok so far ?

Looking great. 8)

Does the helmet have a liner?
Would a real M1 helmet liner fit inside the molded one?

Only asking because fitting a helmet liner would make it fit better and be more comfortable IMHO.

Looking ready for for a proper combat drop troop!.

Just my suggestion- try rolling the sleeves up another 'notch' so they are above the elbow: the USCM borrow the USMC tradition of rolling the sleeves up high on the bicep, with the inner exposed. ;)

Random question, do helmet liners come in different sizes? Mine seems to stick out under the lip of the helmet!

Yes they do, the early 'ww2' m1 helmet had a different profile to the later 'vietnam' m1, the liners have been mixed up over the years so its possible to have the wrong one in a helmet, grunts didnt care!
personally i have a ww2 with front seam, a 50's m1, a couple of vietnam m1, a vietnam m1c (airborne) and my USCM helmet is made from a ww2 front seam which is cool cos i prefer the ww2 helmet, it sits better.
from what i can see most of the film helmets were originally ww2 ones.

Sorted the knife this morning. Took an angle grinder to the blade so it's theres just a 1" stub sticking out of the handle (non-sharp). I spilt the sheath, riveted it to the strap then glued it back together. Looks ok i think
