I've been waiting for my BDUs and armour from spat and he has contacted me this week saying that he's hopping to get it to me in the next 2-3 months I would really like to start getting the rest of my kit together while I wait and that's where I need you lovely people's help
I've been looking for some Vietnam jungles boots but can only find them in the USA which is a lot of money with postage?
shoulder lamp I have found on eBay but its like £300 with postage is this the sort of money I am looking at? or some advise as to where I can get it?
any other little bits and pieces you can recommend or just suggest to make the kit look better?
and as I am very keen to join up with you guys on some drops as a UKCM when I have my kit all together I was wondering how I get my hands on some crew patches?

Any help would be great guys

what size boot are you? bear in mind that the jungle boots are american so they are a size bigger, US10 =UK9 plus they come in XN,N,R,W,XW.
i've got a couple of spare pairs

Anything over £250 is average for one of those lamps.

The one you saw looks to be the latest version by Matsuo, a member on here who makes great replica props, including smart guns. He's in the US though, so postage for anything heavy is an issue as well.

Jungle boots can be sourced in the UK, but eBay seems to only have US based sellers at the moment.

Other sites sell them though, so use Google for ones like this:

You'll want the OD green canvas colour for regular Marine boots.

smallest i have are 10R

one tip on jungle boots, only get genuine ones, the repop boots look bad, are uncomfortable and will break quickly, real ones will last forever and once they are broken in are superbly comfortable (i wear a pair everyday for work)

Agree 100%.

I managed to buy a vintage pair (complete with old sweat stains inside ), they're as comfy as slippers and I can wear them all day with no problems.

Gunny, are your boots the accurate ones? I've been looking for a pair for a while.

They are replica copies but I only wear them with my kit so do the job nicely. Just have to get a comfy insole to put inside.

Or closer to home is a military surplus store in Enfield, they now and again get jungle boots in but it'll be blind luck if they are in your size.

These are the boots I bought for my kit, and I used them to airsoft every second weekend for 3 years. They were super comfortable, and I've just bought a new pair with the black canvas as I lost the last pair and no longer need the OD canvas for marining.

While I'm sure the vintage ones are better, 40 quid isn't a bad price and they're comfortable for hours at a time [although they do make me tower to about 7 foot]

Panama soled boots were early war, so getting very hard to get! My set took alot of time and luck to find!

Most people make do with Vibram, as no one will ever be able to tell the differnce!

If you need to date the boots then just read the two digit number after the 100 in the DSA number.

E.g, DSA-100-69-C-12345. In this case it's 1969.

The pair I had had it on the insoles and the tongue part.
Most boots don't come with the insoles making them really rare.

The ink may have worn off the tongue on yours Steve.

You can also date them (roughly) by the stitching but I can't remember how sorry.

its normally on the inside of the tongue
also look out for the stitching up the back of the heel section If it has a join/stitching, then its possibly original. Smotth/no stitching = repro

ok dating jungle boots.
vibram soles are the close block ones, they are early war boots, panama are the ones with the big block type anti clog sole, they are late vietnam war and were introduced to try to prevent the soles getting clogged with mud.
from the top/side they look identicle cept for the sides of the sole which few people will notice.
the really early '1st pattern' boot has vibram soles and no canvas ankle support, these are now rocking horse poo and if you have any chuck 'em my way!!
'2nd pattern' is vibram sole with ankle support
'3rd pattern' is panama sole with ankle support
all the vietnam used boots will have the little seam up the heel.
the stamps rub off very easily so its not always possible to see the DSA numbers, but it is correct that the contract date is the 2 seperate digits, however if the 2 seperate digits aren't there it dates the item even earlier.
post war boots look the same as 3rd pattern but no seam
the repro boots are very easy to spot, the leather is too 'shiny' the green colours are way off, the canvas and nylon is very 'coarse' and the boots just look cheap!
