The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

I can get hold of a first generation spat pulse rifle resin kit. I don't know anything about the kits as I'm new on here.
Is this kit any good as I know the spat stuff is good from all the feed back I have found on this forum.
Has anyone got this kit and do they still use it and is it any good.
How much prep work is involved in building the kit. I have all the tools required and used to working with resin and filler due to what I do for a living so a little filling and sanding is not an issue.

Keep in mind that the first gen kits are at least 10 years old. I'm up to like the 4th or 5th gen now. The difference in those old kits to the new ones is night and day.

And to add a NON-biased view, since Spat is clearly posting to drive up sales...

Listen to the man, and DRIVE THOSE SALES!
The new Spat rifles are excellent, and unless you're getting the old one EXTREMELY cheap, they're very well-priced as well and definitely worth the money.

Thanks! I didn't want to say it like that in case he's buying it from a member here! I didn't want to kill someone's sale!

Regarding price when you say at a reasonable price what should the most I pay for a first generation resin kit.

As I don't want to make previous mistakes and make things twice would it be better to save up and buy the latest kit or with a little time and effort can I make a generation 1 kit look good

Check out Spatcave.com for pricing info on the latest version, and leverage the asking price of the original one with that.

Keep in mind people can ask whatever they want for an item. Just depends on how motivated the seller/buyer are.

Personal opinion?
No more than 'Bout US$130 - US$150 + S&H for an older unbuilt Spulse kit.
The new ones are US$175, after all...

It's $140 shipped to the UK is this a reasonable price or not. It comes with the led counter as well if that makes much of a difference.

Question for Spat: what color resin did/do you use for the Spulses?

Now it's black. Back then it was white.

For $140 I would just pay the extra and get the current version from Spat
