The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

:D Great work!

What did you do with your tail? A belt under the suit and a hole in the suit?

Another Alien's here!

There must be a Queen around here somewhere..... <looks around> ;)

Think I'll eventually get an Alien suit, especially as my shape suits it very well; very long legs and arms with a very short body. 8)

I sewed the tail onto a latex butt piece then that was sewed on to the suit. The strap that comes with the tail was sewn in to the under harness thats inside the lycra suit for support.

Here is the suit next to my custom P2 suit I put together.

Thanks everyone

He sat in a box for a few months before I decided to put him together. I re loomed the head to make the detail stand out more.
Image

I wanted all the details on the body suit to be stand out in 3d , so I foamed backed all the body parts.

Image
I have a resin Aliens Head that will go with this suit as well so it will have a moving jaw and a retractable tongue.

Owwww yeah ... that be the one.

I have a soft spot for the smooth head/clear domed Giger alien with six fingers.

I can't wait to see it!

Awesome job on the suit by the way. That sucker is gonna scare the collective crap out of some people!

Does latex not go browny when it is old? Those photos were taken very recently, when it was 30 years old.

When I have a brain transplant with someone who has artistic talent, I'm gonna make an ALIEN-style suit and it will still be black/grey. None of the 1979 pictures I have seen make it look particularly brown.

(Oh, and Mortal Immortal: Watch ya back, I might be behind you with a bottle of Chloroform: You might have the artistic talent I'm looking for!! ;) )

Yes latex will turn brown red when in direct sun light. The pictures I posted came from a Hollywood auction in April. For the camera to pick up the creature in the movie it was painted different then what you see in other pictures.

Nice job.

Is your alien for display purposes or will you be wearing the suit?

I ask because I like what you did with the back of the neck. Have you got a close up of that? It looks as though you have put some additional texture there to conceal the join – it is permanently sealed or does it open and close?

I cannot get my head in the neck of my suit if it is sealed, and at the moment the open flaps spoil the look of the suit, whereas you've nailed it.

Lovely paint job, too.

Andrew

Err, he said "flaps" - Beavis

Q:Is your alien for display purposes or will you be wearing the suit?

A: It is both for display and to wear.

Q:I ask because I like what you did with the back of the neck. Have you got a close up of that? It looks as though you have put some additional texture there to conceal the join – it is permanently sealed or does it open and close?

I cannot get my head in the neck of my suit if it is sealed, and at the moment the open flaps spoil the look of the suit, whereas you've nailed it.

A: I got an extra tongue looking piece that goes on the back spin from Jay (MonsterRoom). I had a big gap in the back of the neck because my head would not fit in as well with it sealed. I took the tongue piece and cut it in half and glued that over the gap and now it is sealed. It gave me that extra room and also filled that large gap. I think it also gave it a little extra detail.

If you look close at the front part of the neck you will so see that I cut out all the louvers in the neck so I could see better and breath. With my black hood on you will not see my face or see into the mask.
