The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

for the rest of the marines, here is a taste of what its like to sling around the new smarty:

sex.

:DD

the ONLY gripe\damage from the whole event is the rear trigger guard bent. and since its thicker now, im afraid of trying to bend it straight, thinking the resin will break while trying to fix it!!!!!

front handle is still strongly mounted, new feed tray is great, little bit hard to open the cover with the drum attached but thats not realistic anyways. drop the drum THEN open the feed cover.

We did a shakedown at Dragon-Con, it seems the most fragile portion was the trigger guard over the clutch handle, I have redesigned the mount for that and it is very strong... like hurt-somebody, strong.

With the new intel on that and a few other parts, mods have been made and Im going to be pusing kits out in order and I hope to have all outstanding kits out before halloween.

Heres a pic of the kit painted ready for final assembly.

Image

For what its worth...

People may wonder why these kits cost as much as they do or why they take so long to make... Well here your answer.

The kit consists of 47 individual parts, 11 of which are cast pewter, one custom cut aluminum tube and two vac formed pieces.

Holding it together are over 50 screws nuts bolts etc, and 5 springs.

It takes nearly two full size spray cans to prime and paint the entire gun, incl ammo drum.

And of course theres the investment in time in respect to casting, finishing, assembling and painting the big bastard.

Shipping entails a 12x12x48 box around 14 lbs and has never cost me less than $45 to insure and ship within the US. The overseas shipping rate on this is appalling. :(

For those of you who have one, or want one are there any upgrades or features you'd like to see that I haven't mentioned?

I'll 2nd what others have said. I saw this in person at D*C. Absolutely outstanding. Matt's work is 2nd to none (and I can't wait to get my very own Matsucorp Pulse Rifle!!!!). If you understand the amount of work that goes into something like this, the price is very reasonable. Heck, I wouldn't do that much work for what he's charging!

Can't remember the names of the two smart gunners I hung with for a bit. Both members here. I got a card from one of them, but lost it in a haze of alcohol.

Great guys, whoever you were! Thanks for showing off your hardware.

There's quite a few sites out there with info on the mould making and casting process.
Check out sites like "smooth on" (Google it). Now take that information and increase your
work by 10x and you to can make your own smartgun.

Or...

You can just save yourself months of work, money and heartache and buy one of Matt's.

The quality is worth it in the end.

This is the reason for my answer, I can and have done molding and casting on small items... NO WAY I would attempt a smartgun sized critter

I got one of the new re-tooled Matsu smartguns from 25-Serria at Dragoncon whilst i was in the states. Utterly impresive. If you are serious about having a smartgun that is second to none, go no further. Im looking forward to the new and improvred trigger gaurd. A big shout out to Kevin who lugged this to Dragoncon for me to pick up. I Dismanteled it to a zillion pieces in order to pass it through Austarlias stringent, custums. Im happy to say its safe in Oz and currently being cleaned up for the painting process. It is already the envy of those in Australia whom have viewed it
Thanks guys
