The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

This is a screen-grab from Trevor's awesome YouTube clip supporting playable females in A:CM. I'd never seen this shot before, so I thought I'd ask: what is on Dietrich's shirt? We all know about the back of her shirt and the seat of her pants, but what is this? it looks like a "not sign" (ala Ghostbusters) but with nothing inside it. Thoughts??

Didn't she have something similar or in a corresponding place on her armour?

Edit: Checked Harry's site - She does.
It appears to be a No Entry symbol, similar to the UK road sign:

Good catch! I'd never noticed that it was on her armour as well.

I wonder if it was simply a good luck charm (i.e. no entry for bullets) or if there's a further meaning. Maybe I'll have to write to Cynthia and see!

The No Entry has a white - in the middle of a solid red disc, but the shirt and armour ones have a line at an angle in the same red colour as a red circle, more like a general prohibition sign:

That was my first thought, but then what is she prohibiting?

Can anyone ask her, maybe?

Give me her contact info and I'll gladly write her! I've been meaning to anyway as I've modelled my Marine impression after Dietrich.

As a guess... I think the most direct answer would be...

Sex?

If I had, I'd have already contacted her myself. I was thinking there's a fair few here on her Facebook...

Prohibition... Alcohol? :)

It is the one with the red circle/red angled line also on her armour. It appears to be places over her heart, you sickos! ;)

Curse my photo dyslexia, I thought it was on her right chest! So over her heart she has a "not sign". Coupled with her statement on her pants:

I'd say she is making a pretty clear statement regarding love. Kind of like Remar's "padlock heart" on the Hicks armour.

My CM persona is a Corpsman (like Dietrich) so now I have to make a jar of "Patrick Gerrity's Scout Spit" for sanitizing stuff on the battlefield.

I, in real life, work in an OR as a sterile tech, and am in training (again) to be a medic. If you want actual medical info, I can totally help.

Thanks LoneScout!

Hey, Cynthia Scott wrote me back!! Here's what she said:

"You are correct -- the "Do Not Enter" symbol over my heart was intended to indicate that Dietrich was all business, not to be taken lightly. Jim Cameron assigned the book Starship Troopers to us as background reading to help develop the sense of unity in a small troop of people who risk their lives for a living, and he encouraged us to personalize our uniforms the way GIs did during the Vietnam war. The Red Cross with drop of blood was to designate me as the only medically trained person in the unit. We even got to design our tattoos!"

Very, very cool that she took the time to answer me.

Awesome. You know for years I just assumed the "do not enter" on her armor was intended for projectiles! It honestly never occurred to me until this thread that it was her heart.
