I think you're right- the only other marine killed outright would be Spunkmeyer (although this is just a guess, as it is never seen). I think we can assume that the warrior's intention was not to capture Ferro- there was blood all over the place! Typically there is no blood with captured humans (Brett possibly being the only exception).
All the other marines killed were by accidents (Frost, Crowe, Drake), or suicide (Gorman and Vazques).
Wierzbowski is the only one on the fence: His screams sound like death cries, but his bio-readouts do not flatline.
I think I once read that the aliens are a lot more intelligent than we'd care to believe: Ferro (and Spunk) were killed because they represented the largest threat to the hive (the firepower of the dropship). It's easy to think, "How could they know what the dropship is; they are just oversized insects". But the marines underestimated their intelligence as well.
