The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

[edit]
Having now spoken to Matsuo, I can confirm a maximum of 10 available shoulder lamp kits.

These will be available at a discounted price of $150 each, shipped to the UK.

So given that the easiest way for Matt is to ship to one location in the UK, I'll either send the kits out ( Sorting seperate payment for that once I know the exact costs - I've asked for a rough weight for one packaged kit and will check price with Royal Mail as soon as I have that info ) or hand them over in person for those of you I'm going to be seeing soon.

I'll give this thread until 8pm on Sunday evening for folk to state their interest, or until we have 10 requests for kits.
Once we know how many kits in total we're ordering, I'll pass that on to Matsuo.

He's requested one single payment, so if those of you in the list below can send your cash to paypal@signoise.com , I'll then pay him as soon as everyone's sorted.

I've posted names in order of stated interest... First come, first served.

1. Me : Raw, Interested in LED mod. ;)
2. Clanger : Raw, Luddite. PAID
3. Baz : Raw, Luddite. PAID
4. Mantroon : Raw, Luddite. PAID
5. Burntkona : Raw, LED mod. PAID
6. Medway PVB : Built PAID

Cheers, folks. LIST CLOSED!

Cool :)

I plan to rig mine to a rechargeable LED system using airsoft-compatible batteries instead of the 2XD-cell halogen lamps Matsu uses...
If you fancy that too, let me know and I'll price those as well.
( Not decided whether to put the battery in the lamp box, or go with the "belt pack" idea... Currently I'm leaning more towards the belt. )

Cool. Noted. Cheers :)

So - Do you guys want your kits raw, or finished?

Matsuo:
Quote:
Quote:I partially assemble the kits in that I piece them together and dry fit the parts to ensure they work together properly. So then all you have to do is take them apart so you can trim, finish sand and fill if need be, then paint...
...the kits are screwed together you just have to disassemble them to clean them up for painting.

The wiring is very straightforward.

...

I charge an extra $75 for built wired up and painted.

Matsuo reckons the body's OK, but the lamp head mould's almost dead.
He might be retooling it over the next week or so anyway, though.
If you want one... Speak to him quickly! He told me there'd be a max of about ten available, and my list's at 6 right now.

( I assume you're in the States? )

Don't forget to watch for customs and import charges if you're having everything sent to the one address in the UK.

Any package coming in to the UK with a marked value above £36.00 is liable for charges if the customs form is marked 'gift'. If it's marked as 'sample of merchandise' or whatever it is then the limit before charging comes into effect drops to £18.00

Of course if Matt is happy to do so you could ask him to mark the box with a value of say $50 or $60 but obviously that would have an effect on getting any compensation from the postal services in the event of the package getting lost or damaged.

Good point Harry. :)

I was caught for £57.50 (including ParcelForce admin charge) for the MiM PR kit recently.

If The Rev gets caught, then I'm happy to pay my share. :)

Thanks Harry.

I've been meaning to post that for a few days.

If Customs charges are made it should be a given that we are expected to pay an equal share.

Cheers,

Andy.
