The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

The worst part of it Sam is that am still getting my marine kit together and now he wants to be a marine meaning I have to start all over again !!!!

I think donations are in order here since Homers Heroes inducted him into the UKCM, they should foot the bill lol

Hello!
Im Marie, scapey's bird - aka the one that sounded pure weegie as hell, but really its because i was in company with differing accents and i had a cold!

I only just saw the aliens films (first 3) earlier this year; aliens was seen at my first drop at the glasgow film theatre with scapey, bri and stu; and i just got drunka nd played photographer; and laughed with total surprise when i found out that one of the charcters was called spunkmeyer, love it!

So yeh, 3 drops in total have tagged along to now - collectormania in glasgow being the 2nd one; and the 3rd being my first nsc.

I am unofficially wanting area 52 folk to have another section name - The Dead Party; but we shall see....*dances to the flashing lights*

All that aside, im a leo, love shopping and japanese food, and my dude (obv!).

My name is Frank and I’m another newbie and big Aliens Fan from Germany.

Some of you (Hi Matt, Mars, Spat, Stephan, Tommin, .... ... ... ) already know me from mail contacts.
So I guess it's time to join the AL Board for me finally.

@Dom: The Service Number request has been send. :) Hope I didn't miss anything.

At the moment I am collecting the last pieces to work on my Smart Gunner costume.

You can find some pictures here:

Update: I do have the Camera for the M56 now and once the M56 Smart Gun arrives I will try to make it work.
Many thanks to all who helped me!

Looking forward to chat with you! :)

Hi Matt, thanks for the welcome.

So he’s a Waterboy for you? Do we all get assignments by you or Dom then?
If you can re-assign Waterboys to feed the pigs (supply the Smart Gunner’s M56s with rounds) that would be great.

How many smart gunners are there anyway?
Before someone asks you can't have enough of either pulse rifles or smart guns, whatever works for you. Not to forget the flame throwers.

Cheers,
Frank

Hi, been here a week but not officially said Hello.....so
I have been a huge fan of the Alien and Aliens movies. I was attracted initially to the wonderful art work of Ron Cobb and of cours the incredible Giger works. I remember seeing Alien on its release and was simply bowled over by the quality that ran throughout the movie..it was literally a work of art.

I would love to build a Narcissus and Dropship at some point but at the moment ( hence my being here ) I am building a full metal Pulse Rifle with real Rem 870. I am also starting to buy the parts for a motion tracker. Just waiting for my parcels to start dropping in so the PR build can commence.

Love the forum, just wish I could get to all parts of it...will have to be patient. I have 4 threads going but no idea when access will be allowed. Anyone Know?

Anyway its a great forum and I also do the RPF one too. Both sites have some incredible talent. Something to aim at.

Signing off.

Hi, I'm Bagpuss
I remeber being very young when my uncle bought me "The Book of Alien" ( in the days when it had the white cover, still have it somewhere). Sadly i missed the special event at Space Centre this year ( even though I live a couple of miles away). That's work for you.

Currently I've decided that im going to have to shell out on an Airsoft pulse rifle as its about time i did ( although swmbo says ive got too many Guns already). I'm planning on a G&P kit and putting in a working shotgun at some point later. ( I regularly play airsoft at the Embassy in Leicster so the combo will be ideal)

Oh and I'm awful at typing on an iPad.

( this is starting to sound like an AA meeting........can anyone fix a dodgy handbrake? :) )

Greetings! I'm Jun from the United Kingdom. I'm also a member on the RPF, Astromech builder and the Dented Helmet.

I've wanted very badly to build Ferro's dropship helmet after seeing all the fantastic prop over here! Over the next few years (I guess thats the normal duration to build one of these accurate helmet?) i'll be researching, reading and collecting parts for the build. Let me know if anyone have some parts for sale to get me started!

Does this forum have a 'For Sale' section?

Cheers!

Hi jun, Welcome to AL - hope to meet up with you sometime!

We have a sales section called the Base PX. However, for a variety of reasons, very new members can't see it until they've made a few posts in the other sections. At the moment, there isn't any DS helmet parts listed (although people will be along to correct me ...).

Be sure to check out this thread in the Archives: viewtopic.php?f=8&t=3128 along with a load of more recent threads.

Thanks Pug50!

Yes, i've read Birdie's thread about his dropship build. He's sold his partial completed helmet to star wars chick. Hopefully we'll be able to see some pictures once she's completed the build!

Ah...that explains why i'm unable to see the 'For sale' section. I guess the same min 20 post and 45 days criteria applies?

cheers

Hi Everyone,

Any UK Cons you could recommend for 2012?

I'd like to meet you in person, so I plan to go to German, UK and US Cons in 2012.
For US I guess it will be Dragon Con.
Unfortunately I can't join any Cons until mid of November 2011.
We are working on getting a small private gathering in November (25 years of the Aliens movie in Germany). Anyone interested please drop me a pm or mail.

I’m looking forward for my first real drop.

- Frank

Hello Marines

Im David from South Louisiana, and Ive been actively costuming a few years now. Aliens has been one of my favorite films since I first saw it while stationed in Germany at the base theatre at Graf when it was first released. I intend to begin with a drop ship pilot, and work towards Spunkmeyer's helmet with the gunner sights.

I also do SW and BSG costuming, and I am the Public Relations Officer for the 501st Legion.

Glad to be here!

Welcome new recruits :). `finally caught up on the boards'

@577_ops - there's a calander on the ukcm board that gets updated but I'd say definatly go NSC next year as that's a main drop and also the AE which is worth the visit.

Hi all,

my name's Chris and I'm from Bristol, in the UK. I've been a costumer for many years and some of you will know me from the 501st UKG/Reel Icons.

I've always been a fan of 'Aliens' and was lucky enough to accompany folks from the UKCM, to DragonCon last month and had an amazing time with them. So much so, that I wish to put together a uniform and join the ranks.

My intention is to start with a Service C uniform, then hopefully onto a Drop ship pilot or CM armour.

Looking forward to getting to know you all.

-Chris

Hio,

My name is Trevor from St Louis, MO, USA. I've been attending cons for over a decade, but have always been a big Aliens fan. I recently started up my own suit of Colonial Armor with pepakura, and hope to get some ideas/feedback and see what else people are up to in this line of costuming.

Other random hobbies include music, foreign language and posting guitar covers of video game music on my youtube channel. www.youtube.com/schattenjager
