The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Thanks fellas!

Im using 5mm x 15mm rivets and a hand gun (my arm killed after riveting the main chest piece).

Industial velcro is pretty stong, lets just say you dont want to stick it down in the wrong place ;)

Thanks Doc, must be a little heartbreaking for you :(

Right after a small break due to moving house im back to work on the armour. Cracking on with the helmet I cut the front strike plate from the fiberglass lid and used large pop rivets to attach it to the metal helmet. I added milliput to fill any gaps and blend it in. I did the same to the male section of the earcup hinge.

And here is a shot of the helmet components (minus IR sight) ready for painting and final installation.

Almost there :)

Thanks! :D

OK weathering on the helmet done. All that's left is to attach the padding to the lobster plates and strap them on, add the IR sight and rivet up the ab pad.

IMHO, the camera should be mounted slightly further forward, so the front edge is against the front plate of the helmet, as at the moment it seems to be pointing off to the right a little. :?

Sometime before I fly to Atlanta, I'd like you to fix my loose shouder strapping, as it's never been 'right', always slipping down, yet awkward to tighten due to my narrow shoulders and having no neck. :)

I'm back at work now unfortunately, so we'll have to arrange a weekend date and I can just as easily visit you for the fitting. :)

BnQ do a pair of yellow ear defenders with padding that fits the itex perfectly.

Are the two rivets in the front strike plate on the helmet supposed to be exposed?

Looking at the helmet pics on Harry's site, the hammered rivets were flat/filed smooth on the surface, as you can barely see anything.

Sadly I dont think the rivets are accurate but i wanted the strike on their nice and firm so used pop rivets anyway. Small matter of function over accuracy.
