My friend Doug has been working at Pinewood studios today & said he went to see the workshop supervisor & they are working on the vehicles for the new Aliens movie , he's not allowed to say much about them , but did say " They Rock "

They're Prequels to ALIEN being directed by Ridley Scott.

I've heard and seen some very cool stuff and am pretty positive about these movies.

The space suits sound like they could be awesome.

Do they rock in the same way that the APC did when the set roof collapsed?

Let's make sure we track these vehicles...we're 'still' wondering where the APC went.

He thinks they have been doing prep work for a few weeks now , he's hoping to get in on the gig once they start shooting . with modern tech & special effects these days , who knows what way this will go . Lets just hope its not the Phantom Menace of the Aliens saga .

I've heard there are going to be two prequels telling the story of the origin of the space jockey. They are supposedly Ridley Scott’s final movies and from what I've heard there is only one creature. This is all pure rumour I have heard from people in the industry so I don't know how true any of it is.

why couldn't there be? honestly - They didn't say in Alien "Colonial marines do not exist".

And, the Natalie portman rumour has died down, they've edged towards noomi rapace, but Scott doesn't have a full budget yet, and so can't start casting people.

The manual isn't canon. I hate to say it, but if Scott decides he wants colonial marines, he wouldn't be contradicting himself, manual or no manual.

Well....I'd prefer not to see Natalie Portman....but if its Scott's decision then I'll accept it....he is after all the best person to make the decision.

the Portman thing sounds like a joke to scare fans of a possible "Phantom Menace of the Aliens saga" (as "dave maul" defined it). I wouldn't give it any credit at all.

I cant see Colonial Marines being reintroduced into these scott movies. I dont think it works with the events layed out in Aliens. The USCM didnt encountered the creatures before then. and I think if the marines faced a xeno before then they wouldnt hide it, completely. They'd introduce something into the corps to face such an organism. unlike the company who have on several instances have and kept it secret since the first encounter in 2004. Covers up the failed attempts from everyone and always allowing for new people to come along, find it, attempt to return with and get destroyed in the process. The company is very very sneaky, they dont want people to know whats going on, so why include the govt on a secret bioweapons project?

yes, in ALIENS we see this happen, but if I am remembering correctly, burke was able to talk some higher ups in the USASF with large stock shares into sending out this very small recon force to check it out. both Burke and the Generals believing the platoon could handle it and in the end pay off bigtime.

from what i have heard is the movies take place before the W/Y merger or durring the merger process. as we all know in the AVP movies both companies were seperate.

so here's what i am thinking "part" of the plot will be....
both are obviously aware of the creatures, (Xeno and Predator. I hope the predator isnt featured in any of these movies but I can only see evidence of them being presented as they seem to have been the only race to semi control them)

so maybe 1st movie is both end up tracking too the same spot, engaging each other in trying to capture one first, we finally meet a real live SpaceJocky probably on Spacejockeyland and then in the 2nd movie the companies deciding it would be better to work together in a joint effort to capture the creature than destroy each other.

Obviously all hell is going to break loose and they will lose control of the situation fast. They eventually contain the situation (probably with help from a spacejockey) thinking they have completely destroyed the creature and any trace of it they cover up the events and leading to the ultimate company merger. all is safe, sound and quiet until yrs later when the events of ALIEN start it all again. With the outcome of the prequals being that a spacejockey captures a queen and tryd transporting, probably back to its own bioweapons company on its home world.

Im probably way off, but it sounds like a plot for a prequal.

Either way these movies end up, i am more than sure Scott will stay true to the series heart and a real well thought of storyline that connects the other films together and most importantly corrects the failures in the other movies in some sort of way.

these movies will save the franchise

yeah, well after 17days they are declared overdue and can expect a rescue 2 weeks after that. well maybe longer in the earlier years of the USCM
