WoooHooooo! I hope that they can make this happen! And touring the US too? You guys can finally see what you missed. I went to Alien War when I was very young (and sensitive!), so my main memory was being terrified to tears. Hopefully, I can do it again and get the balance between fear and enjoyment right!

Edit: Blow visiting it as a punter: I WANT TO KNOW WHEN THE AUDITIONS ARE!!!

Fingers-crossed that they can overcome the obstacles and fingers-crossed that it doesn't cause any issues for "Alien Encounter"

That's great news Willie, thanks for sharing.

If it is going to be the "Alien War Zone" again and not just Alien war as it was originally then, as I remember, the marines did not bear much resemblance to their film counterparts in the end anyway. Don't know about the Aliens as I never went to the mobile show.

I don't see why this would cause any problems with the "Alien Encounter" either.

Look forward to hearing more details.

May I suggest contacting the organizers of Dcon and seeing if it can be held it during the con.

I'm sure you don't have any tour dates yet, but conventions would be a lucrative place to hold such an event, and they happen in every city.

Thinking about it though, setting up for just 3-4 days for a con - big undertaking. But Atlanta is a big city anyway so you'd think there would be business before and after the convention.

Well I guess I figured if they were going on a US tour they'd have some kind of mobile set that tears down and gets stored in a semi truck, and then gets rebuilt for only a short time, a week at most, then it's off to the next city.

I have no idea how big thier sets were for the originals, but I figured since Dcon takes over 3 or 4 hotels they'd have somewhere to host the event inside one of the hotels.

I guess I also figured with such an event it would be in the cons best interest to get some of the stars from the film to Atlanta. Such as Al Matthews, and Lance Henriksen.

But if they need warehouse space, there are loads and loads of spaces in this city. I'm sure they could find something off site if they needed to, or wanted to.

OOh. If there's an Alien war Promo shoot The Hadrian's Wall crew will be there..

Well Im pretty certain if it's opening In Glasgow there will be a press launch. We just need to let the organisers know we'd be more than happy to help out.

In that case it'd be an 'official' UKCM drop.

Does anyone have an update on the Alien War DVD that is mentioned here?

Every few months I check for an update, but nothing has happened apart from a few days ago the news of the new Alien War was mentioned.

Is the DVD still happening? Maybe it would be good to wait until the new one opens, then it can include more info?

Actually it might be good to go ahead and finish the DVD, that way it can be sold at the new one.

There were some interviews filmed last week for the DVD, and it's getting theatrical premiere at the Glasgow Film Theatre if all goes to plan, or so the rumour goes

Knowing Alien War will be coming back is totally awsome! I wonder what sparked there interests in bringing it back? And will it be bigger than ever sinse the release of Alien Ressurection and AVP ect.

I've finally managed to find the man's current email address, as the one I had for him before kept bouncing - So Mr Gillies should be aware of the UKCM and our deep, burning, passionate desire to be involved in this incarnation of the show.

Hopefully there will be open auditions held for bugs and marines - I suppose it depends on how many of the original cat are still kicking around, and how big a production it's going to be this time.
Even if there's no space for us in the show itself, I don't think they'll turn down the opportunity to have us bolster the look of the press launch - Since while having our own costumes isn't really a factor for the show ( Since I can't see anyone with a bug suit agreeing to subject it to that amount of punishment on a daily basis! ), it'd be a major bonus at any media event.
