The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

I'm gutted at the news.
Chris was one of the people who's posts on here I always noticed, always made sure to read as I knew what he had to say would be worth hearing.
He was definitely one of the good guys, and with his passing we're suffering a great loss.

My sincere condolences to his family, and those of you on here who had the privilege of knowing him in person as well as online.

Don't know what to say.........

I hope Joy can take some little solace from knowing how well liked and respected Chris was here on the AL, and obviously by all those who knew him in the real world.

Mine and Karyn's thoughts are with you.

Rest easy Chris, you earned it.

Andy & Karyn.

As already said,Condolences to his family in their loss & also our loss.

A stand up man of the community & always recognisable on any of the Dcon photos I`ve ever seen.
He gave so much to the Community.

Never knew you personally Chris but you will be remembered.

I'm utterly heartbroken.

Rest well dear friend, I pray we have the strength to carry on and live up to the example you set.

It's hard for me to find the words, so I just say be at peace my brother, you have earned your place of honor in the hereafter.

Watch over us till we meet again.

Matt

I just sat across from him at the USCM dinner 4 months ago. I can't believe this. I count myself fortunate that I was able to spend the brief amount of time with him that I did over that weekend.

A finer marine, there is none.

My thoughts and prayers go to his family. May he rest in peace.

I also send my fondest wishes for peace to Chris's family. I never met him, but he sent me an email when I first joined this list saying- A fellow Coloradan! Come over anytime! I was never able to take him up on the offer, but it was made without reservation. I know we'll never forget him, and through that, he'll live on. Please memorialize him at DragonCon.

I really don't have anything to say.

I known Chris for many years. We did not always stay in touch....but it was not nessecary.

He was as good as a man could be.

If anything we can look to his life, attitude and demeanor and hope one day we can measure up to his standard.

Be at peace.

Steve

I didn't really know Chris - but I know he had a great influence on our community (and the others he was a member of) and he will be sorely missed.

I just got the news via a message from Derek.

I can't believe I'm having to type this.

Today I/we have lost a Brother.

Chris and I started exchanging emails in the summer of 2003. By the time we attended Dragon Con (the first D-Con for both of us) it was as if we were long lost friends seeing each other for the first time.

I'll never forget my first meeting with Chris. In time we would share emails, talking about life, problems, ups and downs. Chris was like an older Brother I never had. Sometimes a Father figure. There were times I poured my heart out to the man- he never once had an unkind word, or was too busy to reply.

Last D-Con we were hanging out in the lower Hyatt- he asked me about how I had a habit of not coming to dinner with the guys (I do have a tendency to be a social butterfly at D-Con). Chris said to me, "You know if it's because you can't afford to, the meal's on me pal!"

That's the kind of guy he was. He would give you the shirt off his back in the middle of a blizzard.

Godspeed Amigo.

I miss you already.

I was really looking forward to meeting Chris in person. I'm sadened that I won't get to now, in this life at least.

I'm so pleased that he came back to the board.
It would have been a tragedy for him to have passed without knowing how much he is respected here and without us all being able to enjoy his company, some of us in person; some simply online, befor his time came.

Sleep well my friend!

I am utterly shocked, this is extremely tragic news. Even from just a few brief email exchanges with him, it was clear he was truely a great guy.

Rest in Peace Chris.

Joy just called me...there is a service tomorrow morning at 9am MST. Where ever you are, please observe a moment of silence and remember our fallen Brother...Chris' brother mentioned having his armor at DragonCon and possibly auctioning a set of his BDUs to raise money for Joy...

Also, there are a few things we have planned to honor Chris in the next few days...I spoke with Noeland tonight and he will be doing something very special in a few days...

Also, tonight at 9pm EST we will be raising a glass to honor Chris...please join in if you can....

A very sad,
Derek

Evening,

I just logged in to see an e-mail from a friend on the forum sending me his condolences for the passing of Chris. I dropped everything and made a mad dash to read this thread to see if there was some mistake. . . I wish there was.

I first met Chris at Dragoncon back in 2003, but had corresponded via e-mail long before. What a positive guy !!! Never had a bad thing to say about ANYONE !!! Always full of life and always with a smile on his face ready to tackle anything that life threw at him.

It was because of him that my father continued to go to Dragoncon and attends local cons with me even to this very day!!! Chris & my dad would talk the night away. They had quite a few things in common. I can honestly say that if it wasn't for Chris, my dad & I wouldn't share the wonderful world of sci-fi together as close as we do.

Chris also painted my armor at no expense just so it would match everyone else and I wouldn't feel left out of the group !!!

You were alot of things to us Chris, to some a brother, to others a father. But most importantly, you were our friend.

God I miss him . . .

I've registered simply to say that this news crushes me. Chris has been a friendly face and an encouragement for me since 2003. I never got to know the man himself for all he was, but I know that I counted him among the good ones. Chris was always there with a smile and helping hand or a laugh. I've not had my Marine stuff out at Dcon for about 3 years now and he's always asked me where it was. I was looking forward to seeing him this year in my armor again. We've lost a great man and a great friend.

Here's to Chris. You're already missed, buddy.
