The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

I haven't been around for months now, but this news drew me back to express my sadness.

Chris was a great fellow, always a good friend and always willing to bend over backwards to help. I knew him since 2001, I really can't believe he's gone.

I'm at a loss for words at this point, I just feel like I've missed so many opportunities being away from the board this long.

you know, its crazy... from what i hear, Chris was the kind of guy anybody wouldve liked to meet...and i never met him, yet im still crying...i dont even know if i ever even talked to him on here. i just wonder what unfortunate events may cause me to meet even less of you by the time i actually make it to a con, a few years from now...

i guess i should say it now...Kev Burton, i just want you to know that, while yes, we are a "brotherhood", i feel especially brotherly to you, esp. considering it was your MSN site-thing that wound up pointing me here and causing me to realize my fanaticism for Aliens...

i have to go mourn now...

I didn't have much to say earlier... and I may not now... I'm just letting my fingers pour out my thoughts.

Chris was one of the first people to welcome me back when I re-opened my site after almost a year of being closed. And we spoke again right before Christmas about his APC. I was surprised to hear from him initially, because I hadn't been active here in quite a while. Truth be told, I was surprised he even remembered me since we didn't have many conversations when I was here last.

And when we began talking right before Christmas I saw it as a door opening... a friendship emerging... one that had been years over due in forming. And when I heard that he had had a heart attack my first thoughts were of disbelief, shock, and horror. I couldn't believe it... we had only been writing to each other a few days earlier.

I don't have the connection with Chris that others do, and I envy that. I got a taste of his friendship years after witnessing his spirit with others... But I'm very grateful to have had the opportunity to start down the path of friendship with him.

There is no denying his character, friendship, loyalty, and compassion. He was a brother to others, and a man among men. I raise my glass to you, Chris.

You're in the pipe, five by five.

Via con dios

Chris was too good a friend for me to make some wisecrack although he would expect it from me. Those of you who do not know his military experience should make it a point to look it up.

I will not refrain from posting my favorite pic, since he is now with the angels...

. . . Each evening I take a walk
As usual
I make believe that we still talk
As usual
People always stop and stare
I guess they just don't see you there
Don't they know you'll always be right here
As usual . . .
~ ~ ~ ~ song "As Usual" - Brenda Lee

Our meeting - brief, memories - many . . . & treasured.

Chris's passing is indeed a great loss to everyone, including me, even though I never knew or met the man. He sounds like the kind of man I would have loved to sit with, just shooting the breeze.

Chris, Rest in Peace Sir...and may the Angels guide you home. My prayers go out to his wife and family.

Tim.

When I first met Chris back at DragonCon in 2005, it was Saturday afternoon at the USCM raffle. Actually, that's where I met most of you for the first time. However, if anyone seemed to be in charge of things at the base, it was definitely Chris.

This next shot is one of my favorites, and was taken the very next day right after Sunday morning breakfast.

When we said our goodbyes, I remember Chris saying that he was really glad I decided to come down to Atlanta at the last minute, and that I seemed like one of the ol' boys. He really made me feel welcome, and right then and there I felt in my heart that I would have to be blessed to have a friend like him.

I've started a reply a dozen times today and I just can't find the words.

I'm gonna miss you, Chris. :( I'm just sorry we didn't get to spend more time together than what we did.

See you on the big Ready Line in the sky...

A massive loss to the community, hell a massive loss to the world, wish I'd had the chance to meet him face to face and thank him for the assistance with my costume last year.

You'll be sorely missed Chris, rest easy.

My first DragonCon in armor was 2006, and Chris was everpresent, with immediate camaraderie, offering armor tips and brotherhood. When he mentioned to another Marine something like "he's one of us now, right?" and gave me one of those vials of LV-426 "dirt", he had no idea how much that made me feel welcome.

In 2007, on Thursday night when I was in "lazy costuming mode", wearing just the BDUs and leg armor, he came right up, friendly as can be. He hadn't rejoined the board yet at that time and he was such a sight for sore eyes.

I never had call to establish an email correspondence with him, but it was my loss.

Semper Fi, Chris...
