The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Due to complaints, I've removed the list of names who offered donations to the Chris Chulamanis fund.

Apparently, it was in bad taste to do it... as things in worst taste have never been done.

Ok...as of this morning at about 10am EST, I called and talked to Chris' wife..she is distraught about this and had a hard time talking. She told me that they are talking about pulling his ventilator plug already...GOD NO!! I cant believe this!!! She asked me what I would do...and my reply was to let him hang in there..he is a strong man and I believe he can pull through this....but this news is not good. She has my number as Tony said and she said she would call me with updates. I left a message tonite for her to call when she could...I wanted to see what we Marines could do as far as getting Doms donations to her...and what else we could do to help...Ill keep you all posted as I hear news...

I am truly in tears as I sit here and type this. Just keep him and his family in any and all prayers.......WE LOVE YOU CHRIS!!!!!!!!!!!!

I hope I get to "sing you a hymn" soon brother!!

Too Pretty to Die

Location: Florida, USA
After years of drooling over his custom USCM 1/6th armor bits. After buying a tracker tube and watch from him thanks to people pointing me his way. After buying a resin motion tracker and a grenade belt off him on eBay right before D*con 07 (and seeing his other USCM things there too), I got to meet him.

He laughed as we met. He reassured me he wasn't getting out of the Aliens biz, just selling off some surplus. We chatted at The Hard Rock on Friday night. Saturday I got the tube of "dirt" from him. Marched beside him (and many of you too) as a brother, my first time with a group that cared more about comradery than canon.

Now he's been brought low by an enemy far more insiduous than an Alien. And it fucking hurts to the core.

For those wondering what stable means: "There are no major active medical issues and the patient's basic vital functions are not fluctuating or in need of support."

Although I take this as a piece of good news, we must remain cautious in our optimism. I have just contacted the hospital where he is being taken care of and they advise me that he is still in the Intensive Care Unit. This means that he may not receive our gift directly there yet. What I will do is have a small arrangement sent to the hospital and something much bigger to his home.

Dom - contribution sent.

Stable? Way to go! C'mon man... Fight! Fight!

I've also posted something about Chris in my weekly PSA on The Essays. It's under "Site News." I still feel a loss for words so it isn't much.

Here's what I sent to Chris to the hospital:

Image

... and to Joy at their home:

Image

As Chris is in the ICU, he may not receive flowers yet... delivery date for his will be on Tuesday the 8th... hopefully he will be in a recovery room by then.

Joy's flowers will be delivered tomorrow.

A copy of the bill is available to any of the donors upon request. We will await word from joy on how she would like the balance to be sent to them.

Talked to my girlfriend the nurse, she said if he's a fighter and has the will to live, there's a good chance he'll recover. If all his vital signs are stable, he's doing good. Says that heart attack victims have a much better chance at recovery than stroke victims.

C'mon Chris!!!!

Thank you Dom for giving us an avenue to show our support for Chris.

Thank you guys for keeping us updated.

Good to hear Chris is fighting and turning it around, all our hopes he keeps kicking its arse!

If you see or speak to him, or his good lady, remind them they have a date with the us Brits in the bar at Dragoncon and they'd better not miss it!

Please pass on our hopes and prayers.

Andy & Karyn.

God, I can't believe I got in on this so late... I've been somewhat out of the loop over the holidays :( There isn't anything I can say that hasn't already been said ten times over. Chris, hang in there, man! Other than that, Dom, if any more donations are taken, let me know.

Jesus Christ... Dom, I got your text yesterday but had a family medical emergency of my own and so wasn't able to log on.

This just broke my heart this morning. Dom, if you're still taking donations, let me know as I'd be more than willing to do so.

Chris helped greatly in making my introduction to this group so easy and friendly at D*Con; he made a huge impression upon me and I hate to see this happening to someone so positive.

My thoughts and prayers to him and his family.

Chris served in Vietnam (as an Army diver)- was awared the Bronze Star. And he's Greek (something I just found out last D-Con after knowing the man for over 5 years  ).

So hell yes he's a fighter!

C'MON CHRIS! WE'RE ALL WAITING FOR YOU! YOU'RE NOT DONE GOING ON DROPS YET!!!

UPDATE!!! 9:15am EST

Chris' wife just called me. His condition hasn't changed much through the night, but she is in better spirits than what she was yesterday when I first spoke with her. He is still in a coma like state, but the doctors say his heart is good..Thats good news to hear!!! She has been playing some of Chris' favorite music for him throughout the day and has been talking to him...His brother is flying in town tomorrow to see him also.

She also wanted me to thank Dom and the rest of you guys for all the contributions, prayers, kind words, and for just being Chris' friends!!!

More updates when I get them.

To say that Chris is a good guy, is like saying.......the USCM is an ok group of guys and gals. It's just a HUGE understatement.
Like most people here I'm really at a loss for words and just waiting for news. So I'm just going to post these:
