The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Shocked you made it back at all... if I had had all of that collection in the back of my van, Dave would be stranded at the motorway services and I would have made a run for it! :D

Thanks to Sgt. Darren for services above and beyond, all that falling about on the floor man, what do you look like, you are a Marine (oops all that time with Al is wearing off on me!)

I have to say that the scariest moment of my AE experience, was when I realised I had run into Darren and just kept thinking "TERRY ENGLISH MADE THAT, SHIT"!!!

Hope none of the dents match my elbow inprint!

Terry is a God and I love the man - running repairs in the NSC courtyard!

Guys, just wanted to say it was a pleasure to meet and talk with you all over the weekend. I think we showed what is possible when different clubs sharing similar passions can do when they come together for an event. Thanks again and look forward to the next one.

I can't say it wasn't tempting Malika but I was able to control myself and make it back to his place with out leaving him in the middle of nowhere.

Thanks again for organising this event, it was fantastic and I can't wait to do it all again. Hope to see you again before too long.

Cheers

Darren

It was a pleasure to help out. There unfortunately isn't all that much, aside from both Q&A sessions with Terry and Al in full and the last 5 minutes of the "bug hunt" including the "kill".

I've been sitting here enjoying the quiet of an empty house for a couple of hours now since Geordi and Karen left in the truck. Everything's unpacked and in the garage - I'll leave putting it all away until tomorrow!

I've also been trying to put how I feel about the weekend into words; when I'm this tired it's not easy!

I must echo what's already been said in that every single element of the weekend was of course totally amazing.

I've had the pleasure of exhibiting at an Exewing event and now the Space Centre and let me tell you, you guys definitely know how to run a great one!

To see the different groups working together as one was truly uplifting. As many of you know I come from a theatre/entertainment background and the "the show must go on" ethos was as strong with everyone involved as it is in the professional theatre world. The sense of camaraderie between us here on the AL, the UKG and the guys from Hyde Fundraisers was a very strong one, and (as someone else already pointed out) it just felt as it should; like one big group working together.

People often see my collection and ask me why I don't sell it and get a big house or something, and the answer was there all weekend. The collection is now so much a part of who I am that I'd find it exceptionally hard to let it all go. I'm fearful that without it I'd be a lesser person, and without it I may have never met all of you - so I want to thank each and every one of you for making me the person I am today. And that's not easy to type with a tear in the eye.

Harry.

Let me see a Kraft Cheese Slice and we'll talk!

I emailed the guys at Hyde Fundraisers last night saying how nice it was to meet and work with them (although I didn't see much of them as they all left the barbecue early to watch Dr. Who).

Kevin emailed me back this morning saying thanks and that they hope to get together with us all on another project soon. :)

I'm just going to de-lurk here and say what a great weekend you guys put on. It was fantastic seeing Harry's collection up close, and seeing all you AL guys in your gear has tipped me over the edge. I think I am going to have to get myself a set to go along with my pred stuff.

The Q&A was very interesting, and well done. Loved the on-set stories.

The Experience was fun. I bet those bugs were sweating.

All involved should feel rightfully proud. :)

Wow what a weekend.

There’s not much I can add to what has already been said. More people then I could name worked really hard on the event to make it genuinely special.

As always nice to meet old friends and get to know new ones.

Can I just give a personal thanks to Alex and Jon for making us Legacy people feel welcome. I’ll admit to feeling apprehensive about working with the UKG and they put my fears to rest. :)

Pictures when I get a chance to upload them.

Two other people who should be thanked are Andrew David Clark and his brother (Russ? Curse my failing memory!) who spent 90% of the time with cameras stuck to their faces.

Thanks fellas, I hope the footage you got was good stuff. I'm glad you guys were there to capture all those great memories for us. :)

Thanks Harry, and yes, it is Russ. I just wanted to say a few thanks myself.

I'll start with you, Harry. Thanks alot for taking the time to show us around your collection for the video (Harry was a natural in front of the camera), and also for the great Q&A, we really enjoyed that.

It is always a thrill to see the HHACA, and ever since I first saw it at Simon Clarks Aliens convention in '99 it has always been my first port of call when these events take place. I always get excited to see those costumes and props! By the way, the collection just wouldn't be the same without you, as I'm sure all here would agree. Like Bob Burns and Roman, YOU ARE the collection!

Many thanks to Malika for giving us great access to the event and her thoughts throughout the day. I think the planning and organising that went into the event cannot be praised enough. Not to mention rescuing and being the lord protector of abandoned Alien heads! And nice sausages at the barbie, too!

Geordie – you were a natural in front of the camera and went out of your way to help us 'film the ride'; thanks for the guided tour and expect to see plenty of yerself in the video! You took time to show us how everything came together. Without you we would have been wondering around like headless chickens! Top man.

Jon – Great script, mate. Gratitudes for taking the time to help us with your insight and taking time out to film those cut aways. A real marine!

Jez – thanks for the great website that helped me make the Aliens. I had such little time before the AE due to work and being unwell, that without your site I we wouldn't have got the costumes done before the event. The definitive guide to making an Aliens costume. And a great trailer – we'll put it in the film.

Gareth – Likewise with your site. Great advice with the tail. Well done for letting us film you in various sates of undress! I'll make sure nothing too racy gets into the video cut! (If anyone wants an under the counter directors cut for fifty quid let me know, nudge nudge, say no more...)

Darren, despite losing your voice late Sunday, you still had time for a soundbite to camera. Kudos, soldier! And too much footage of people saying you look like Ben Afleck! You kick way more ass!

Paul. Great intro video mate, would love to get a dv or avi from you to put on the film. Wicked talent.

Thanks to Terry English and Al Matthews for laughing politely at my crap jokes, (these two are the best joke tellers I've ever taken company with). What a highlight it was to spend Sunday night/Monday morning with two of lifes originals!

Thanks to my dark glasses I wore the next morning.

Last but not least, my bro Russ for being on B camera – nice one mate, got some great footage. And not forgetting all the hard work when you and Sarah helped me make the Aliens. Screeee!

All the marines, control room actors, Richard, Giles and the techs for helping us out. If I've forgotten anyone else, I'll remember you when reviewing the footage!

Finally, an apology to all for arriving late on Saturday. People never want to know why or hear excuses, but suffice to say we made it and thanks to all for not giving us a hard time about it!

I'm cutting the video at the moment, will be done in two weeks time, I'll post details somewhen. Didn't take many stills, but here they are below.

Next time round I'm going to leave the camera and be an Alien! As Al Mathews would say "Business is business, baby."

Andrew
