The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

As I'm sure most of you will already know by now, Trevor "Weirzbowski" Steedman passed away on Saturday evening after suffering a second stroke the previous Sunday.
Trevor was much loved in the Aliens fan community and his passing has left us all heart broken. Never thinking of himself as a "celebrity" he was incredibly welcoming to people and I know he thought a lot of everyone in the community, as we did of him.

Trevor was taken off life support on Thursday morning and was expected to pass quickly but his body fought on for three more days, he was a tough bastard and as ADC said "there's no way any Alien would have taken him down."

I'm devastated that Trevor has gone, not only for myself but for his family of course, who now have to turn their attention to arrangements to send Trevor on his way with style. As you all know Trevor suffered a stroke a few years ago and has been unable to do much in the way of work ever since. As a result there's nothing left behind to help Alison and the kids with the inevitable costs that will now come. With this in mind ADC and I thought it would be a wonderful gesture on the fan community's part to help Alison and the family with this financial burden who are struggling at this terrible time.

If you would like to help then please do but only if you are able to and no one should feel obliged to do so. It doesn't matter how much or how little you can send and I would ask people not to post how much they donated so that others do not feel they have to match it. Details of all donations will be kept private.

I'm not going to set up a special email or anything for this so please just send what you can to my PayPal at

Darrenkemp75@gmail.com

Please put "For Trevor" in the message.

Many thanks

Darren

Hi Darren, good on you for organising this. Am wondering about the currency that should be used for donations - GBP?

Hi everyone

ADC and I went to see Alison and the kids today.

Alison was overwhelmed by the generosity of the fans and said she didn't realise Trev was so loved.
We were able to give her £900 which is a massive help towards the costs of the funeral. She has had some help from family as well and now has about two thirds of the money needed.

The funeral itself will not be for about two weeks yet as it turns out, so if anyone else would like to help out there's still time. My original post was based on the assumption that the funeral would be taking place in the next week.

Alison asked us to give a massive thank you to everyone that helped and I could tell it meant a lot to her that people all around the world were willing to give so generously for Trevor.

Thanks everyone and again if anyone else would like to help over the next week please do.

Regards

Darren

Well done to everyone on the Aliens Legacy.
The contributions so far have gone a long way to helping Trevor's family with the costs of the funeral as Darren said.

The funeral is just over a week away on Friday, July 15th at 3.20pm.
If you would like to attend please check this thread on the UKCM Noticeboard:
viewtopic.php?f=31&t=16286

Aliens Legacy/UKCM members are most welcome to attend and that came from the big man himself, and also more recently from Alison. Trevor personally expressed to me that he'd like marines in costume at his funeral, if possible. Of course, anyone not in costume is equally welcome.
A presence of any kind would be great.

In the meantime, I just want to harp on this fund raising appeal a bit more.
To offer some context, the funeral costs have left Alison with a bit of a problem. So far, us lot here have gone some way to alleviating the burden on her, which is bloody marvellous!

When Trevor passed, he unfortunately left nothing, financially. And I don't mean very little, I mean, nothing at all.
After his heart attack a few years back Trevor couldn't work and keep up payments for a time and so went bankrupt. Work picked up but then he had the first stroke and since then he couldn't work again and times just got harder. In fact, appearances were his only source of income for the last few years.
The outcome of which, means that Alison has to fund the funeral herself. So we've chipped in here, her family has chipped in, a few friends as well but there's still some ground to cover.

So if you can, please give anything you can afford, just a pounds is OK – I figure that if we can get as many people as possible to put in a small amount then we may raise enough so that Alison doesn't have to deal with the stress of finding remainder of the money which she will have to put on a monthly payment plan.

All that we've contributed so far has gone to the basic expenses of the hearse, the crematorium, etc.
After that, I'm hoping that we can raise enough money to be able to get a USCM Delta made from flowers, from all of us here at Aliens Legacy. And if that happens then I'll post photos of it here.

So. Please forgive the hard sell but I'm sure everyone here would agree that if we can make even more of a difference than we already have then it will be truly something to be proud of. So please, if you can, wire a payment to FriendlySkies at his PayPal address:

Darrenkemp75@gmail.com
Please put "For Trevor" in the message.

My Best,
ADC

No worries mate and thank you very much. It all helps and it all adds up. And its all for a very worthy cause.
Finding money to donate to anything in these times is hard so it's all the more appreciated.

Just sent my donation. I wish it could have been more.

I had never gotten the chance to meet Trevor in person sadly, but he seemed like a great guy from what I've read here. It's a shame to see him go. Condolences to the family.

Hey guys, I wrote Ricco Ross and told him what you're doing. Here's his response:

" Wow!!! I've said it before and I'll say it again. Aliens fans are fu%king some of the best fans ever! I have to repost this. Thank you so much for sharing Christian."

I know we're down to the line but maybe this will bring in a few more donations.
