The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

I just imagine the parade at DCon if only half of registered marines were coming.

I wish. Never know, it might happen.

Out of interest on this thread... are these service numbers based on actual types of service numbers used by the US military currently? I presume not? I know nothing of this kind of finer intricate detail of the US forces. All I know is that the numbers are a heck of a lot more complex than the ones we are given here by armed forces in the UK...

Pte Marshall; I have no clue how they formulated the service numbers... and yes they are a complex bunch of numbers. When I first started the svc no. registrar service, nobody had a damn clue, so I pretty much had to formulate it myself.

The syntax of the service number that I create is A MM/TQ.D.0.DYYYYEX
MM= Month of birth
DD= Day of birth
YYYY= Year of birth based on your actual age at the time of the LV-426 incident
EX= All SVC numbers end with E and the proceeding digit will determine how many multiples of that service number there are. For instance if someone born on the same day as you ends up with the same YYYY, they would be E2. Same goes for two born on the same day applying at the same time for a SVC no. (Hey, you never know).

Did they use this system for the film? No. But the syntax is the same.

I struggle with British humour and am stumped at German humour. Stick to creating great Neue Deutsche Härte, comedy's not for you.
