The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Couldn't get the dang site to finish the process. Tried several times and finally said "fuggit". Call later. Well, later they called me! (I'd gotten to the "submit" part of the process) and asked if I'd be trying to order from them. Took me a minute to realize just who & what was calling me...yeah, got one coming too...;)

I have checked with the moderators and it is OK for me to list this ebay auction on this one occassion as it is a Buy it Now listing and the guy has multiple bags available.

S6 bags on ebay

Just thought the rest of you guys might be interested.
I think this is pretty cheap myself and he has plenty of them.

Cheers

Thanks Darren for the tip. I bought one. Funny it was more for the postage than the price of the bag!

OK, I just received mine and it didn't look QUITE right. Inisde the lid it says S10. The inner flap is not very long and if you have it sitting out side the bag as in the earlier pics then the lid pretty much completely covers it. I have contacted the seller by mail but I am gonna call them now also.

Can anyone confirm if the S10 bag is prettyy similar to the S6?

I'll let you know what they say.

Cheers

Darren

Just spoke to the company and it seems like a genuine mistake. He said that for some reason this particular bag was VERY popular all of a sudden. He asked me to return the bag and will send me the correct S6 bag ASAP. Seemed quite genuine like I said. I told him that I had brought this item to the attention of others and that if he HAD sent the wrong bag to any of them that may have ordered one that he could expect them all to be returned for the correct one. He seemed confident that mine was the only mistake (bloody typical) but said he would be happy to replace any others IF he had made a mistake.

Cheers

I just got mine and it doesn't really look exactly like this:

It's made from a synthetic canvas looking material - not the shiny nylon pictured. The clip on one end of the strap isn't the same as the Pulse Rifle sling, it's a plastic buckle like those used on the armour. Also the inner flap is barely long enough to hang out of the front at all, and in fact when I let it go it springs back in.

I can't help thinking he's sent me the wrong ones too - and I bought three of them as well. :(

Harry. That sounds like it might be an S10 haversack.

I should point out that the "Pulse rifle sling" webbing clip is one I added to the strap.

As standard it just loops through the D-ring, but as I wore it on my webbing I wanted to be able to tuck the strap away so I added the clip so that I can still use it as a shoulder strap.

Harry

That sounds exactly like the ones he sent me. Inside the lid on mine it says S10. I spoke to him and he said to return it and he'll get the correct one out.
There was a leaflet inside the pack which has his number on it.

For those in the San Francisco Bay Area check out Mountain View Surplus. (both stores)
They had them a few years ago for $12 and may still carry them.

You can also check out Jack Army-Navy in Fremont as well as a few places in San Francisco itself.

Treadwell

We Myself, Airborne Mike and Harry ordered from the Ebay guy. He was quite amenable on the phone though and was more than happy to remedy the mistake.

Maybe since I just ordered yesterday he won't make the same mistake with mine, then.

It might be an idea to email him and just confirm that you definiteley want the S6 bag, just to be safe.

Well, I sent my bag back to the seller as per the conversation I had with him. He said he was expecting more S6 bags in this week. However, I just received a full refund through paypal from him and a message to say that the new stock arrived and they are all S10 bags "despite him specifying S6". In view of him refunding the money with no arguments or hassles I won't leave any negative feedback but I am inclined to think now that he had known the bag he sent me was an S10 and that he would not be getting the S6 bags at all. Of course I could be wrong and if any one who ordered from him does recieve the proper S6 bag then I'd be interested to know.

Cheers

Darren

Thanks for the heads-up Darren, it's a shame that he seems to be passing off S10 bags as a 'next best thing' and calling them S6.

It's kind of misrepresentation though... I wouldn't be surprised if he gets some negative feedback for that.

Nice find! :D

I've been loosely following this thread and decided to check out the auction selling the S6 bags that Darren posted...

Hmmm... It still lists 17 of them left, but the seller ended the auction early because the item is no longer available for sale?

Did the seller end up with more trouble than it was worth due to returns and exchanges, or did someone here simply just go on a hoarding binge?

My guess is that the seller wasn't paying attention that his S6 bags were really S10 until people started pointing it out.

I received mine yesterday from: www.approvedgasmasks.com

I think it is better to order over the phone though. My shipping
address was causing hickups,so wouldn't process.

Also sporting a Hick's night raider knife.

I know I'm a bit late coming in on this but I've been through my reference and have found some images of Frost and Dietrich wearing their bags (which appear to be the same size).

Dietrich has her medical equipment in hers, which looks like an oscilloscope or something. Frost's is of course used to put all the magazines into.

My question is; is this an S6 bag? The closure looks like it's not a pop fastner, more like a cam buckle similar to this one:

Also it looks like it could be a lot bigger than the S6 bag. I'd like to hear your opinions on this.

Hmm. I'm not sure what that is.

Having looked at these photo's I went back and looked again at the original screen cap posted. The one that lead us to believe that there was an additional flap.

It looks very likely that in fact it was nothing more than a misleadingly placed shadow!
Harry's photo's clearly show no additional flap and when I went back to look, the trick of the light jumped out at me.

I'm going to have to review some video footage.

But what an interesting coincidence!

Edit ~
I've just had another damn good look.
Confirmed. There is no additional flap in that photo. IT's simply the ripples in the fabric of the pouch and the shadow of the closure web strap.

Hate to say it but I knew the S6 wasn't the correct bag.;)
I've been looking of Frost's bag for some time.

It is however the correct one for the scene with Ripley loading the grenades into the PR on the elevator.
