The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Well it finally arrived. Some sad events surrounding its arrival...so I have not fully freaked out over it. I will....eventually. Hand made by Terry English himself. Aluminum. Real M1 helmet with infra red eyesight. The best thing is...Terry took over 50 pics documenting its construction. A signed 2 page letter and set phots of Hudson that Terry took all came with the armor. It is amazing. Very light and comfortable.......it rocks!!!

Steve

The lamp, grenades and Gerber did not come with the armor.

Yes, the Alien War Armour was cast from a set of Terry E's Dietrich armour. That's why it looks a bit funny on all the guys , it's not cos it shrunk in the wash..

You mean to say the armor is smaller than the man's version or shaped differently?

Alex,

Each set of armour made by Terry English for Aliens was fitted for the actor. The style and design of the Dietrich armour is the same, it's just a little smaller.

Harry Harris.

Edit: Hehe, it looks like Harry beat me to it.

Each actors armor was hand formed by Mr. English to fit them. Clearly an aluminum chest plate built for the rather big, masculine chest of Bill Paxton wouldn't fit the smaller, feminine chest of Cynthia Scott who played Dietrich or vice versa. Comparing the Dietrich armor pics on Harry's site, especially this one www.encom.demon.co.uk/dcside.htm with the ones of Crowe at Alien's Archive aliensarchive.tripod.com/aliens/crowe/bodyarmour.html it seems to me that the women's armor is more convex in the front and perhaps more narrow at the waist. Other than that, I can't see any other differences.

The Terran Trader armour is made from glassfibre not resin. It is pulled from moulds taken from a set of Terry English marine armour that was custom made for Terran Trader's Norman Brown. Out of all of TT's products, the armour is probably their best product. (Of course this is excluding the VP70, which myself and a number of UK based colletors believe was cast for Norman by a second party.)

I saw Norman's first layups of the armour in 1998 at an exhibition at the NEC in the UK. They didn't look too bad. I can't honestly say what they are like now, though.

I have been meaning to do this for some time now. As many of you know, I have a set of Colonial Marine armor built by Terry English. The following are pictures taken while Terry was building and painting the armor. I hope you enjoy them. I know I do.
