Has anyone compiled a list of alternatives to Humbrol paints for armor? I'm n the U.S. and hoping to find similar colors in Model Masters. Anyone?

The hobby shop I buy from has a chart that lists all of Humbrol's colours, and what their equivalents would be for Model Masters (FS), Tamiya, and Testors.

Not all Humbrol colours have US equivalents, but I'll see what I can come up with.:)

Thank you very much guys. I've tried every concievable search. My shop here does not have a comparison chart, I think mainly, because they don't have a selection of any Humbrol colors. I've felt kind of stuck. I can eyeball a lot of them I suppose, but I'd rather get closer than that.

Thanks SSgt Burton, I'd really appreciate that. I' sure I'm not the only one either!

Ok I checked the hobby shop today:

Going by the numbers I got (and filling in some gaps with the charts posted above), here should be the most complete list:

Humbrol
30 Matt Dark Green: Tamiya=XF-58 MM=N/A Testors=N/A

33 Matt Black: Tamiya=XF-1 MM=FS 37038 Testors=1749

63 Matt Sand: Tamiya=XF-59 MM=FS 33531 (sand) OR 1753(wood) Testors=1706/1753

98 Matt Chocolate: Tamiya=XF-10 MM=N/A Testors=N/A

147 Matt Lt Grey: Tamiya=XF-14 MM=FS 36495 Testors=1732

170 Brown Bess

<span style="font-size:xx-large;]?;)

Hope this helps.:)

170 Brown Bess (for Camera Body)

Substitute "Black Green - Tamiya XF-27" for the "33 Matt Black" on the body of the armor. Use the black for name stencils.
Some also substitute "Light Grey XF-12" for the "Matt Light Grey XF-14" which is darker.
