I agree with Magnus. Horpat looks like new BDU's right off the shelf. The other's like been around the galaxy a few times (very weathered) even a bit sun bleached. |

No nitpicking. People asked so just showing. I know I have never said which one. I only have Aaron's and MAA's. Had access to Spat's material so just posting pics. Your choice. Thanks! Greg |

Much kudos to those who have taken the time to submit BDU comparisons for the membership to look at (Past and present). That being said; For those of us that are in or will be in the market for a set of BDU's the only BDU's that are relevant are those from Spat and Aaron (Chefs may or may not happen). MAA's (good or bad are HISTORY). Fine for comparison only. Everyone has their own opinion on what they are looking for in a BDU (Form, Fit And Function). Spat and Aaron have presented to us there interpretation of what they wanted in a BDU and for present/future buyers comparison shopping is a GREAT thing. Yes they have their differences (That what makes the world go round). So details like mat'l, construction and color/pattern are very important. [Side note: Aaron's latest offering are not pre-shrunk. That might make a difference when ordering a set (size) from him]. I currently have an order in with Aaron. As for me I like a new off the shelf look/feel (weathering will come in time). Not really keen on the mat'l. I would have preferred a mat'l similar to those currently used by our military. But one can't have everything. I applaud the MAAs, Spats, Aarons and maybe soon to be Chefs of the world that are willing/courage to produce costumes for fans and also open themselves up to criticism (Good & Bad) for there effort. If you are looking for the PERFECT costume, make it yourself. Otherwise deal with what's on the market. |

Just wanted to say that having the ABILITY to choose which USCM pattern you want is a rarity, considering how rare its been having access to ANY USCM BDUs for sale at all. Beats using Safariflague and redying it to work! |

Wow, ok just finished this great thread. I have an early MAA pat3 and wear the hell out of it. I wear the shirt/jacket in the fall all the time. Wash it a lot. Never had any difficulties. Very strong construction. As for the pants, don't wear them as much and never had a seam issues. Till last con. Popped a seam on the crotch. The great thing is I never noticed till then that it has 2 rows of thread. I only popped the one. So, all I can saw "WOW!" great work. Other pants would have ripped all the way thru. Now remember this is an early pat3 set. I do not know if he continued the same workmanship through out the run. George |

Not quite flannelette but it is feminine ... random find in a local Op Shop - Didn't look too closely at the time, but it looked to be some sort of hooded jacket. |

I am just glad to have options. I am with Kevin. I spent so much time looking at different camo before buying safariflage. I later replaced with the MAA 3pat. This is a good problem to have. |
