Righto chaps. For Christmas I was bought this box of random PR parts- there isn't quite enough to make a full gun. I think it's made up of all sorts- I'd like to identify which bits have come from where/been made by who. Here's the full lot: Here's the best bits I've selected for my buildup- this is the most complete PR I can manage from this lot. I also have a real spas handguard (not pictured). A good view of the shroud, any ideas where it's from?: These bits are decent spares which I may sell- I can't use the remington shotguns (I presume that's what they are) since I don't have a real spas cage. These are all odd bits I can't use. The stock is solid. The spas pump is undersized and cracked. I think the stock and handguard have been cast from an Icons pulse- the stock has a copyright stamp underside, while the handguard has a small panel for 2 screws. The reciever here has been shortened several inches for some reason. And there's another reciever here which has been cast from a built up PR. Then there's a section of a spas cage and another half-vent. The spas cage is a bit special- has an aluminium bar running through it. What's this? Is it even a real PR piece, or just some rubbish? I need spoon-feeding here. I need to know what I need to complete this thing, besides paint (I'll use the resin spas for now). I can identify: Counter (or dummy); trigger; metal vent, triangle and stock; those triangle plates which hold the shroud together; sliding bolt for the reciever; thompson barrel. I presume there is a type of catch to release the magazine somewhere? Where might I get these parts then? Yup, I'm a newbie alright. Sorry, can’t help with the ID but what a great Christmas present, Aliens pick-en-mix. I’d love to know what the spiky metal bit is for. <span style="color:black;font-family:FederationBold;font-size:medium;]Adapt-Overcome-Survive |

The only obvious missing part I can see is he 'A' shaped support for the 10mm barrel, this could be a slight problem as the fixing for the front rifle-strap needs to go there. I know some people use a velcro patch to hold in the magazine - not elegant, but practical! I would be interested in the thompson grip and one of the receivers if you ever sell them! Aside from the front barrel support Mel mentioned, you'd also need a shoulder stock, and barrel. Being in the UK, it's probably very easy to find metric sized pipes. For the barrel you'd probably want something approximately 14mm outer diameter, 10mm inner diameter. My recommendation would be to drop DeanO an email and ask him about his stock/barrel vent sets. The stock you obviously need, and the barrel vent... being a 10 holer, will eliminate your need for a front barrel support, plus the fact that the entire barrel support is one entity will make attaching the barrel support to the GL a lot easier. Of all the good finds you got in that collection of parts, I'm most curious about the shroud. Aside from the MIM shroud I've never seen a full resin shroud sculpted to accomodate space for a thompson. Very cool! Does anyone know who made it? -Alex "The M41-A. Like it's been said, get ahold of Deano for the metal part's ! Top notch stuff.. If you need some resin part's to complete the Thompson give me an email. khart2@woh.rr.com As for the Magazine release, since it look's like the casting's you have are of a real Thompson Trigger Housing you can get a REAL Thompson Magazine Release for your gun. If you need some more info on that, email me about that too. I can set you on the right track for part's.. |

Hey cheers Wolvster, will do! Yeah- there are differences between the different recievers I have, they all look slightly different. None of them have 'Tokyo Marui' stamped on them. The grips really do look like real gun parts, interior and all. To Outlook Express! As regards the resin shroud- it is very well cast. Fits together great, no bubbles at all. Could it have been cast from an SD or MiM? the band at the back, which encircles the stock opening, is moulded in- unlike the SD or MiM which uses a seperate part it seems... Lewis |

Lewis -- I heard you bought a real SPAS pump grip. Did you get ahold of a forearm too (the cage) ?? "We few, we happy few, we band of brothers...For he today that sheds his blood with me shall be my brother." |

The shroud looks like it could be cast from the G&P airsoft pulse rifle kit. The section at the back looks just like it. Since you can buy just the kit, and put your own Thompson in it, it makes sense that it the inside can accommodate a Thompson receiver. The shroud looks identical on the inside as mine. A copy of the Icons Hero. I only have the shroud not the whole thing. E... |

Not sure about the PR parts. Now about this.... It's the main beam for a Terminator Endo arm. I've built a few of those in my day. Tom |

Quote: Quote:A copy of the Icons Hero. Wow, Eric! I'm impressed!!! I never even knew that there were copies of the icons Hero shroud... hence my total and utter shock when i saw the interior of that shroud. Very cool and interesting. I thought their heros rifle never made it out of the factory? The guy says he has had the parts for a long time- before the new airsoft kits popped up. MAA, nope, never got a hold of the cage Terminator endo arm eh? that was what I first thought. Know anyone who could use it? Lewis |

I would definitely use wolvster for any parts that you have missing. His thompson parts are high-quality and well-cast. He could supply you with just about all the internals for that thompson (he even has some metal thompson parts that he likes to throw into the kits ). Sounds like you're almost set! Wolvster-thompson parts DeanO-stock and vent Hyperdine-Counter? Good grab BBC! Brian |

One of my friends got a un released kit I believe and molded the shroud and a couple other parts. The Front 2 piece support vent you have is Icons also. It helps when you have friends that use to work for Icons. E... |

Not sure why Dean O would know, he's not a member. I am. Ours didn't had the fake front bracket. Other than Members of the group I don't think any others where released from our molds. I am the only one that actually put on together, everyone else's are in storage. E... |
