The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

It's a small con in Arlington, VA November 20 to the 22nd. I'll be there, along with some friends (Cpl.Shepard) and a few others.

Just posting to see if anybody else happens to be interested, or will be attending but didn't plan on being a Marine that weekend (Blasphemy!)

Convention Info can be found here.

Once again though, it is a small con; so I'm not expecting a huge turnout or anything.

it's also an anime con, and it seems as though most marines (with good reason) tend to stay away from anime cons, but I don't blame them, any type of con that has people that will bang on my $500 spat armor with a window wiper squeegee is something I'd prefer to stay away from..

I Don't know all anime cons aren't like that. I Almost went to two and I've gone to 1 and besides the giant costumed people it's not that bad for expensive costumes. Some people spent $1000 dollars on there's and came out scot free

tell me about man, I don't know what the heck that guy was doing, then when he decided to smack my girlfriend on the back of the head with the damn thing I grabbed it and had a little chat with him, people can be idiots.

oh I know, I've been to 3 anime cons, and for the most part they've been alright, but there's alot of completely immature people in those crowds, so you gotta watch out.

There can be idiots/ A-holes at every convention- but I do find that Anime cons draw a much younger crowd.

I was running the Aliens themed airsoft/larp even at Megacon 2008 (which unfortunately draws a massive young anime crowd despite only having the same 2 voice actors every year) and one of the little shites interrupted for a "Free Hug" to calm me down.

Seriously, I was holding a fully electric and loaded weapon. Had the Orlando PD not been standing right there... :m41aownage:

like I said I useually don't have any problem with anime cons, I'd gone for the past few years as a PMC soldier from the video game metal gear solid, big military costume community there, so I didn't really associate with anyone outside of the MGS people, but this year at the one I just got back to idiots were out in full force,

honestly my girlfriend has had more problems then I have, what with being harassed by weirdos who forget that she isn't actually the character she's dressed as...

I just think alot of anime fans are so obbsessed with what they like they kinda loose touch with reality, that and anime cons bring out alot of the "LOL INTERNET" people who think they can act the same way in real life as they do online.
