OK in the five years I've attended D-Con we have always had sunny skies the morning of the parade. It hasn't even been cloudy once.
Not once.
The way it works is this (and this is from the parade directors- not me)
Sunny - we march
Sunny and windy - we march
Overcast - we march
Overcast and windy - we march
Misting/drizzling - we march
Steady rain - the parade staff will be at the park just in case someone shows up...
Downpours -
no parade
Thunderstorms - are you kidding, I'm getting back into bed!
For us- if it is raining we can play it by ear. If no one wants to march given a little rain, so be it. (shrugs shoulders
)
Quite frankly I'm getting sick of all the weather predictions (and part of my lack of patience is due to the same thing happening every year---
"Oh it's gonna rain on our parade" ).
The weather is one of the most difficult things to predict given it's fluidic state. A weather forecaster would probably do a better job predicting the lottery numbers.
The weather only has to be clear for about two hours on Saturday morning.
Let's just wait and see and think positive shall we?
