Dom can you explain a bit about how this is going to work? Presumably if the majority vote for chicken then that won't be the only option on the night, right?
Also I presume a kabob is the same as a kebab?

Wood Grilled Salmon Salmon or filets, Hickory Grilled Madagascar Chicken Roasted and topped with a green peppercorn herb butter Steak and Shrimp Kabob Grilled with peppers and onions Asian Plum Pork Tenderloin Pork medallions delicately grilled and brushed with a Plum Mustard sauce Bar B Q Ribs Tender pork ribs grilled and basted with our spicy BBQ sauce |

Do Max Lagers really expect us all (over 50 people) to settle on just ONE main dish?! Different general opinions of taste aside, with that amount of people there are bound to be vegetarians/vegans and/or those with allergies and other dietary requirements who might not be able to eat ANYTHING on the list above. Isn't there more choice than that? I'm surprised burgers or steaks aren't on there either by the way - those two dishes alone say America to many visitors. Harry |

I'm doing my best to make this as fun as possible, but whipping me about the lack of selections isn't really working for me. I can refund everyone's deposit and we can go there, wait to be seated for an undetermined amount of time and eat a-la-carte. If we want a room all to ourselves, this will be the only way to go. |

So because we have a big group etc we can't all just sit down and order whatever we want from the 'ordinary menu' assuming there is such a thing. I'd consider that unusual, i'm guessing its a cultural thing? Don't think H is having a pop at u Dom, just trying to understand the situation as things are done different over here generally. SAS |

Dom, Please read my post again. Pay particular attention to where I said " Do Max Lagers really expect us all...". That's Max Lagers. The restaurant. Not you. I wasn't 'whipping' you at all. What you've done so far in organising this meal is fantastic and I'm sure I'm not the only one who's very grateful for all the work you've put in. What I am surprised about is the lack of option from them. By them I don't mean you - I'm talking about Max Lagers. The restaurant. Personally I'll pretty much eat anything as long as it's not liver, kidneys or celery - I was playing the devil's advocate is all. Harry |

LOL At the Leicester drop when Spat came to merry old England and people had to book a meal before hand did not work to well. Plus I was not going to eat some thing that I did not choose. So I had my own dinner in the bar with a great cheese burger meal and double Southern Comfort and watching the rugby and the meal was great. I did miss eating with the others as they were in the other room but I was not going to be told what to eat as it's the "principal of the matter". If it comes down to being told what to eat I will do my own thing as I done it before and I do it again!!!!!!!! Cheer's Steve |

I'm not really worried what I eat as long as I'm part of this momentous event, but the restaurant industry baffles me sometimes. I mean they only do ONE thing - seat people, take their food order, bring them their food then charge them money for it. How hard can that be to do? I'm sure this place has had 61 people in it at the same time before!

I chased up Rick, Austin and Ripstick....both said they'd have funds to you by the end of the weekend. Rick and Austin I believe said they'd just be at the Saturday meal now and would send the deposit for that. |

Arcturan Poontang is pretty much everywhere you look in the con itself
For those who didn't do D*Con last year... ala carte (at ML) and our group is bad! We got seated fast enough, but it took forever to get served and sorting out the bill took at least 40 minutes. None of the dishes may jump out at me... but hey, it's a big hearty meal and... well a chance to see everyone and talk face-to-face without fighting my way through 3 crowded noisy hotels.
