As long as you didn't use con rate you should be fine man.
Most hotels let you cancel up to 24 hours before check in.

well my wife is backing out of dcon . so its all me , but i would like to get someone to help out with the room ,the only problem is its a 1 king bed room and i doubt i will get a different room , i put in the request and i am on the list but i wouldn't count on it .so if anyone is interested in splitting the price let me know we could switch nights on the bed or work something out |

Ah yes, what hotel are you staying at? I need to make sure I can cancel my room without too much penalty and get my refund - how much time would I need to close the deal? |

Well it was a deal I found through the DragonCon community lj on expedia so I think I can get a refund, trying after my trip to the doctor today to look at my nagging quad muscle. Thanks Hopefully it'll all be a go to help each other out by the end of the day

I called expedia and if I cancel my reservation that they already took my money for I lose about $186 CDN out of the $600+ I paid for. I haven't canceled the offsite room yet in hopes of being able to transfer it to a dcon'er who might need it for less of a penalty. Regardless of that, we have a deal... I'd rather cut my losses and give money to a fellow marine and help each other out than to deal with some outsourced guy on a headset again  (After the call was over - the guy with noticeable accent tried to say thanks for calling #### instead of Expedia :O).
