The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Hey Grunts,

I know there is another thread about the SEGA booth mixed with WonderCon, but I thought it would be good to have a stand alone SDCC Thread to plan for the Con!

So who is going this year?

I think I can only be there Wed night-Friday, I have to be in New York for a Trade show that weekend.. d'ooooh! So I'm planning on wearing my Marine gear 1 full day.

Are we gong to have a Fan Table this year? I didn't see it on the CC list.

I'm currently redoing my entire gear for this year, and looking forward to seeing you all again!

- Jeff

My father and I are probably going, haven't decided as to what day, or what to wear. <_<

Depending on if the US soldiers' uniforms in the Indiana Jones 4 trailer stay the same once the movie comes out, I will probably wear some OG107 fatigues. :D

I live 15 min from SDCC, you know I'll be there wed-sunday.

If anyone wants to get togeather I'll probably be hanging around where the Legacy's booth was last year (mezzanine area).

I may be showing up to this now... problem is that I have no idea what's the best way to get my gear out there.

Do the airlines have a problem with a bag with an M41 in it?!

Here's what I do-

Stanley Jobsite toolbox from Home Depot - $59-
Wheels, retractable handle, sturdy- lockable w/ a TSA approved lock.

Line w/ foam.

Print out in large bold letters:

This is a Replica Prop
It CANNOT Be Made to be Fired

(notice the word "weapon" was not used?

Tape it to your PR.

At the ticket counter (DO NOT USE CURBSIDE SERVICE!!)

Tell them you have expensive movie props, you want them inspected and you'd like to be present during inspection.

Depending on the airport, you may or may not be allowed to be present. At Atlanta, you may.

They usually appreciate you telling them. After all, it will be xrayed and will show up.

Okay, my pass is purchased and my flight booked... so I'll be there from the 23rd - 28th.

I doubt I'll be bringing armor, etc... probably just fatigues. I have a ton of places I have to be. :(

San Diego Comic-Con is JUST around the corner!!! This time next month all hell breaks loose!!!

So let's get a roll call again of who is going and what day you think you might be geared up!

Utinni - Wed-Sun, USCM gear atleast 2 days
BrianAnim - ?
Cpl. Lipni - ?
mnoble2 - ?
dsw_777 - ?
Devildog - ?

Who else is dropping? Do we know if we have a booth this year? I haven't heard anything from Jesse in awhile.

*btw, the 4 days passes and Sat passes are already sold out!*

Do we have any other info with Sega and helping them out?

Prepping for dust off!!!!

Image

I decided to dust off the gear for SDCC this year and almost finished with rebuilding my PR!

I added a spring loaded rackable GL, Static Ammo Counter, stronger internal supports, new Sling and paint job (almost finished).

It's a TM Thompson airsoft with Metal Vent and Stock upgrades, and the rest are parts from the original MIM kit (not the airsoft kit).

Weighs a good 10lbs.

I'm currently working on getting my Shoulder Lamp mounted and a couple other small new details for this year!

SEE YA AT THE CON!

GAME OVER MAN, GAME OVER!!!

It's kinda sad everyone only goes to D-Con and doesn't want to try SDCC...

BUT the Marines need to represent in So Cal this week!

I will be there all 4 days, but bringing 2 costumes, Marine being one of them, so I need to split my time. I'm thinking doing Marine Thurs and Sat., how about you guys?

I'm finishing the final touch ups on my gear today, got the Shoulder Lamp mounted, hopefully in a "Con-friendly" way. I went back over my armor a bit more for detailing. I also weathered my PR to match the rest of my gear so it's not all nice and new like the picture above:

Image

Anyone know if Sega still needs Marines to help out, I'm up for working their booth for a couple hours!

Let's try and get a final head count for this week.

I'll be there, but due to a ton of family problems lately, all my costuming stuff has gone by the wayside. This means that I don't even have patches on my fatiques to simply wear those.

The best I can come up with is a "BugStompers" t-shirt and BDU pants. :(

Hey all.

I don't know if Jesse will make it this year. So I don't think there is an Aliens Legacy fan table. If we need a rally point look for the "Scifi Hero.net" fan table. The AL and SFH tables are usually side by side. That's what happened last year.

Well, it seemed we averaged 1 Marine in gear a day. I saw one on Thursday and another on Friday, and I wore my gear today...

Here's a couple quick shots of my refinished gear, my new BDU's didn't make it in time from MAA  but as soon as I get them I'll take some new pix!

After wearing a steel pot ALL day, I decided to also wear a Black Beret, I attached one of the Challenge Coins to a pin backing.

It was a GREAT and VERY BUSY CON!!! The 3 hour Preview Night on Wed. was as busy as a typical Sat.!!! It was CRAZY but a LOT of fun!!!

Nice job on the refinish. Are you going to add any art
work to the armor or keep it as is ?

Thanks, yeah I'm working on a couple design ideas, but didn't have time to really do it right. I also want to add the drop down IR sight and a couple other small things.

And Safariflage is now as rare as a set of accurate BDUs!
