At least the unbelievably bitter taste detered you from drinking too many.

Probably the most insidious alcoholic drinks I used to have were the ones that tasted like candy. Amaretto and butterscotch/peach Schnapps come to mind. The stuff tasted so good- you wouldn't realize the alcohol content until it was too late.
