Going through things and trying to raise the group's visibility level, I was thinking it would be appropriate to post a link to the event website or page on the relevant USCM page and then link also to the drop thread here.

Bad idea? Thoughts?

I concur with this idea. This will definitely attract new members to the Aliens legacy.

Good idea. We (GER.CM) do this exactly to raise this group's visibility level.
Plus with pictures from our photo setup with others (non AL members) the social media way is the better medium IMHO.
Another good reason is that it is easier to have (much) more pictures on fb etc. than on AL.

We might want to make sure AL has the photos as well. I got suspicions Facebook may not last another decade before imploding. I keep on seeing folks quitting the platform and it keeps running off the creative folks due to the restricted ability to broadcast one's work.

Roger that!
It is not about switching media from forum to e.g. fb.
IMHO For a drop I dont see the need to post here dozend of pictures; just a few (not zero).
All relevant (prop building etc.) should be here and stay here, no doubt.
