The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

DragonCon 2016 is soon to come upon us. This thread gives an overview of the Marine activities during the con, who is in charge of them, yadda yadda yadda.

If anyone has any questions regarding any of the activities, be sure to ask one of the folks organising it (as below).

And remember, we need your help putting these things together, so don't be shy about speaking up! :D

Colonial Marine events for Dragon*Con 2017:

The Dragon*Con Parade - Rex Adams (Hollis DZC), assisted by Greg Newell (Gman666)
To register our group and coordinate with D*C parade staff to obtain our parade bracelets. This year, I strongly recommend that whoever volunteers for this position should insist to the D*C parade staff that we are a stand-alone group and should not be mixed with AVP.

The Colonial Marine Colour Guard - Dom Baldwin (1ST Baldwin), assisted by Tony Bassi (Triumph)
To organize a competent marching troop in Service C uniforms to carry our colours at the head of the parade, and to raise funds to supply the Colour Guard with needed kit to accomplish this duty.
Current CG Standards/Guidelines.

The Colony Sweep - Sean Maio (Outcry), assisted by Tony Bassi (Triumph)
To organize and lead a crew of Marines to perform the yearly duties to rid the Atlanta Colony of alien infestation.

The Colonial Marine Dinner - Derek Smith, Dom Baldwin (1ST Baldwin)
To organize the yearly dinner, to secure a location to dine and to collect funds to pay the restaurant. This post is traditionally held by the previous year's MVM. For example, the 2014 MVM should organize the 2015 dinner.

The Aliens Legacy fan table and staffing - Mike Rizzuto (Hunterkiller) and assisted by Paul Maitland (Mantroon).
To secure a fan table(s) and draw from our local membership volunteers to staff the table. Staff should be able to chat and discuss the purpose and aim of our group with walk-ins in an informative and cheerful manner. Minimum recommended staff per hour is two, at least one in uniform, highly recommended one person in armour, and perhaps one person in Colonial Marine branded clothing.

Aliens Legacy Panel - Paul Maitland (Mantroon)
