There's been a bit of talk about when we host the Traditional Colonial Marine Dinner Party.

In talks with fellow MVM's, Russ and Paul, I've got what we think is outstanding news.

The main issue has been we have to start the dinner so late, because we must staff the fan table.

Since Friday, I've been in contact with my DCon contact (we're FB friends as well) and have spoken to her about this issue.
She completely understood and contacted another within the ranks of Dcon.

Now, I will have to meet with them during DCon, but the fantastic news is we can just put a letter / sign on our table, something to the effect: "Out enjoying our Annual Dinner. See you tomorrow!" With no potential repercussions to our fan table status!!

We are looking at .... at 6:30 dinnertime on Saturday evening.

Not only do we all get to eat at a reasonable hour, but those who would like to participate in other group's Saturday functions as well, can do so much more easily.

I think the the most prudent way to approach this is to see what the majority of people would prefer about the start time for the dinner.

We can show up at 18:30 if the last of us leave the fan table at 18:00, but I would like to hear of any possible conflicts, such as Kris', so that we may schedule the meal at an optimal time.

Not a conflict Dom as i said im not pissed or going to lose any sleep over it but that time is just to early for me, if its good for everyone else then go for it i can make other arrangements :D

Am I ok to assume that 1830 is a 'suggested' time? Is there a huge problem with, for example, Marine John Doe had an unexpected emergency and arrived at the dinner at perhaps 1930? Would he still get the food he paid for? What is the absolute latest a person can arrive and still expect to be served their prepaid meal? Is there a cutoff time? If a few individuals need an extra hour or so for whatever reason, I have no objections. So if anyone feels that 1830 is too early, I suggest it's ok to be fashionably late. And I think most of us will go together on time so it's not like we're arriving in piecemeal (excuse the pun).

Is this too objectionable? Gimme some feedback here.

If someone can't make it in time, we'll order them the chicken at 18:30 and then the can come and it when they're ready.
