The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Hey Marines. I just did this for fun to get an idea how the new banner would work. The banner shown is not final product.

I wanted to show side by side comparison to the old one. I did my best to estimate new size to match ratio of the photo. This represents the new banner being approx. 8ft x 3 ft.

Now tell me how much its an improvement. Notice size difference of patches! LOL

Yes, a bit busy. If we are to put just one website, what should it be? I think we should narrow it down to one.

Could you make 'Colonial Marines' a bit bigger?

• I would say colonialmarines.net as the only web address. There are currently two links to the AL on colonialmarines.net; one that points to the AL, and one that points to my service number sections.

• I'd rather see the Deltas in colour.

The rest looks beautiful.

Good point, color would be nice. I'm just concerned about overwhelming Paul.

note: Paul, there is no rush on this. I'm going to order the banner late July, or so....

I say the bottom one, no effects.

But I'd be happy with either if the vote turned out that way.

C'mon people, speak up and give us your input/votes!!

Well, just my opinion, but I think I like it better without color. The Deltas seem to try my eyes away from the "ALIENS LEGACY" since nothing else on the banner is in color. One website is a good idea; possibly space the Deltas a little bit farther apart? It's still a great design either way.

PLEASE REFER TO FIRST POST ON THIS THREAD

I like the 2nd:
why? Color really makes it pop! Larger font on 'Colonial Marines' (NEED THIS TO BE SEEN AT PARADE)

I am just waiting for the final design, then I am going to walk down the street and see how much it will cost to have it made. So the west coast people will have access to one. I had this shop do up some Magnets with Umbrella Corp on them for my car.

Not sure who the marine is just suggesting an updated one, what about having something like this as a background?

I think this looks best, too.

I think the marine pic works well because it's anonymous (I think it's of FriendlySkies?).

I do think the UKCM Delta should be in the middle though, as the other two are very similar and this way the Delta's would look more balanced in their arrangement.

Design looks sweet, thumbs up.

Paul, I agree. Your choice for 'generic' marine is perfect for the banner.

If anyone has ambitions of having their image being the AL poster child, thats cool. However, they can do that when they do all the design work, printer provider research, pricing and hash out money up front for purchase. Til then, Paul's concepts have 95% of the solution. We are only looking for minor adjustments. NOT total redesign. Remember folks, this is only ONE banner. Theres nothing saying we can't have more of them in the future.

All the input we've been getting is great. I'm sure it will be good for laying groundwork on future banners/standess/etc.

Having worked with photoshop quite a bit, having to remove a background can be a difficult chore if the original picture isn't setup to do it. I think the Marine's face concealed as shown is a great way to go and Mantroon made a good call. So my $0.02 is the Marine stays as it. :) Switching the Delta order is a good one.

Truth! You should see him "direct" me while I'm playing Assassins Creed.

I personally like the monotone best. I don't feel that the deltas need to be quite as visible and with colour added, the deltas looks a bit out of place and overpowering.

Keep it simple + clean = Increased Visibility *10

The photo of the marine used, good choice. I like that fact that it could be anyone and you can't really see the persons face. Besides... No marine should outshine the Alien...

As always (and not being biased): Great Job, Paul!

Actually...I think I've got a very good idea of a Marine whose picture I would very much like to see on the banner.

I don't have the perfect pic of him, but I would surely hope that one of our stalwart Marines has his picture that could be used and probably modified for the banner.

At first, I did like the idea of a generic Marine. I did.

But, in an ephiany of sorts, I realized there is one man, above all who should be on the parade banner, marching with us every year.
