The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Hey guys, it is crunch time and I have tried 3 different ways to try and get my name stenciled on my armor. Do you know of any good ways to do it? I have tried pencil, transfer paper and chalking paper.

Any other ideas? I wanna get this on here before D*C!

For my armor I cut out the words on an index card and then used it to paint the words on

I did something similar. I printed out the name in the middle of a sheet of thick card paper, cut out the letters with an X-acto knife, taped the stencil in place and spray-painted it. (Then later, I scrawled over half of it so it's barely legible.)

You seek Mike Rush and his amazing vinyl stickers/stencils.

One option would be printing it as a stencil and then spray. :)
For the lazy ones I think you can even still buy the stencil.

Mike Rush's stencils are absolutely the way to go, but you're out of time for that. Making your own stencil isn't hard (just time consuming), but I'd say adding some sort of adhesive like two sided tape to the back will reduce the chances of over spray making your edges fuzzy. I experimented with this on my Dropship pilot's helmet, but that was a curved surface so it was pretty damn tricky.

Good luck and remember a *little* overspray might actually make it look more real.

I want to attempt to do it myself! My problem is the lack of artistic talent. I can sew all day for you boys, but making stencils and painting and crap just isn't my bad. I mean you should see the mess my headset is!

Thanks for the suggestions everyone! I ended up cutting it out with an Xacto knife then taping it and stenciling it. I did it in black, but you can't really see it. I may get a paint pen and paint it over later.
