The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Keep busy buddy.....that first year can drive you nuts.

For those not aware, you cannot work immediately once you enter the US and have to wait for your 'adjustment of status' and 'work authorization' which for me took 8 months.
He'll be dependent like a baby...a hungry angry baby!!

Took close to the same for my wife. She went quite stir-crazy herself! Cured only when we got a dog, then she had a pal to play with when I was at work.

No, no those innuendos falls under the "small house repairs". You know "checking the pipes" and "caulking" and all that.

Just curious, I won't need the work authorization if I have the adjustment of status?

Work authorization 'comes' with the adjustment of status as once your a temporary permanent resident you'll have the paperwork in which to work.
But the adjustment of status takes 6-8 months to process and go through....hence the wait.

You can apply for the 120 day work permit while the adjustment processes...but it takes about 90 days for that so there is no real point.

Now don't forget my information is 9 years old so things may have changed and I'm also going by Texas processing center times. They may be different in your area so I'd check with the website for processing times and of course the news group I pointed you to many many months ago that i've now forgotten the name of. alt.marriage.us or something like that.
